| Neo_Leviathan07-21-04, 09:35 AM | Heya, I'm playing a 3.5 archer in Living Greyhawk. Help me make this archer as broken as possible! I can use stuff from the "Complete" books, so I'm currently thinking of Fighter, then Order of the Bow Initiate when I hit 6th. Any other ideas/advice? |
| Setanos07-21-04, 09:36 AM | Cleric Archer. A search should find you plenty of good builds. |
| Neo_Leviathan07-21-04, 10:04 AM | I should be more specific. Because I'm using this in Living Greyhawk, levelling takes quite a while, so I need a build that is powerful at lower levels (say 1-7). Also, no Psionics are allowed. |
| CompleteSatori07-21-04, 10:32 AM | Combat Archer of Doom. Powerful in the early levels, with Rogue skills and then Fighter base attack and Feats, once he gets past OotBI, he is well into death dealing arrow *****ness. Human Rogue 4/ Fighter 2/ Order of the Bow 2/ Peerless Archer 8/ OotBI 3-6 1 -Rogue- Point Blank Shot, Precise Shot/ Sneak Attack +1d6, Trapfinding 2 -Rogue- Evasion 3 -Rogue- Rapid Shot/ Sneak Attack +2d6 4 -Rogue- Uncanny Dodge 5 -Fighter- Weapon Focus (Long Bow) 6 -Fighter- Quick Draw/ Far Shot 7 -OotBI- Ranged Precision +1d8 8 -OotBI- Close Combat Shot 9 -Peerless- Many Shot/ Expert Bowyer, Ranged Sneak Attack +1d6 10 -Peerless- Sharp Shooting 1, Fletching +1 11 -Peerless- Power Shot 12 -Peerless- Greater Manyshot/ Ranged Sneak Attack +2d6, Fletching +2 13 -Peerless- Sharp Shooting 2 14 -Peerless- Fletching +3 15 -Peerless- Combat Reflexes/ Ranged Sneak Attack +3d6 16 -Peerless- Threaten, Fletching +4 17 -OotBI- Ranged Precision +2d8 18 -OotBI- Improved Rapid Shot/ Greater Weapon Focus 19 -OotBI- Ranged Precision +3d8 20 -OotBI- Sharp Shooting |
| ksbsnowowl07-21-04, 10:39 AM | Take a look at my Archer Build Thread (linked in my sig). I've recently added a fully 3.5-compliant archer build that progresses up to 17th level. |
| mean_liar07-21-04, 11:00 AM | Peerless Archer is FR, not Living Greyhawk. |
| deftone07-21-04, 11:11 AM | guys, where can i find peerless archer??? |
| ksbsnowowl07-21-04, 11:14 AM | Originally posted by deftone guys, where can i find peerless archer??? The Forgotten Realms campaign accessory Silver Marches. |
| CompleteSatori07-21-04, 11:16 AM | Hey Mean, I would assume that, since the Peerless Archer has no attachments inside the PrC to Faerun (no deity or realm or location dependency as far as any of its abilities, or for that matter, prerequisites), that it could translate over to ANY of the campaign settings. It is a different flavor of OotBI, with a different focus is all. Limiting a good PrC to a campaign world when it has no attachment to that campaign world (save inclusion in a book for said world) seems silly to me. Deftone, Peerless Archer is in Silver Marches, an FR campaign resource, but don't worry, it has no Realm specific requirements, so you should be able to easily convince your DM that it translates across pretty well. |
| deftone07-21-04, 11:30 AM | thanks for the information.... in fact .. i located a post in FR Clases and races and monsters..(i think) in which someone post the comple PA PrC... its very easy to find.. and your builds are very interesting... thanks alot guys.. |
| mean_liar07-21-04, 12:03 PM | CompleteSatori - Agreed regarding the universal application of the Peerless Archer. In fact, the game I play in on the weekend has an archer I designed for the Greyhawk setting with Peerless Archer in the game plan. I only mentioned it because Neo_Leviathan was looking for a character specifically for Living Greyhawk. Living Greyhawk is a set of campaign rules and allowed books conducted through the RPGA, and not just a setting, and the FR books are not on the allowed books list. If it were just 'a v3.5 archer in the Greyhawk setting' I would have posted a build very similar to yours, as a Wood Elf Rgr2/Fgt2/Bbn1 (Whirling Frenzy variant)/DS2/PA8/OotBI2/Xxx3. As it stands I'd guess that KSBSnowowl's Pious Templar Archer is probably good enough. |
| CompleteSatori07-21-04, 12:51 PM | Ah! Never played Greyhawk myself, well not since Adnd, and I always thought that it was too generic anyways... Thanks for the clarification Mean. |
