Suppose further you have a monk in your party with VoP. You have now about 50k gold to spare on hirelings with your and your monk's gold. I don't have the DMG with me right now, so somebody tell me how many 1st level commoner cohorts and hirelings you can get. Balance the number of hirelings and cohorts with the number of alchemists fire flasks you can buy with the remaining money. For 25 gp a flask this seems like a surefire way to get through dungeons efforlessly. |

When your fellow party member takes the VoP, (I believe) he still collects his portion of the treasure. He just has to give it away. The party does not get to keep his portion and split it amongst themselves for added wealth. |

I wouldn't plan on taking 1st level commoner followers into a dungeon with level 10 characters. If they die, your Leadership score starts dropping. Eventually, they will all be dead and your Leadership score will be worthless. Just get a few and have them make you magic items while you're out adventuring. |
