With recent additions of the Binder and Dragon Shaman classes, what is the optimal path towards breath weapon perfection as a "normal" character race? By normal, I would include the majority of 3.5E stuff, but let's not get too crazy with a mineral warrior/anthrpomorphic/etc. template. Racial substitution levels are keen.

Perhaps a better starting question would be: What classes (PrC, too) grant breath weapons? Any races which fall under reasonable guidelines?

If a Dragon Shaman can take those breath weapon feats from the Draconomicon... I can see Quicken Breathweapon as a fun thing for the Dragon Shaman...

You've got the Dragon Shaman (PHB II) that adds a breath weapon, then also a Sorceror that decides to go with the Draconic Heritage (Races of the Dragon) feat tree can get a feat that allows them to channel spell slots into a breath weapon. I think there's also a PrC in there that adds the feats for free (Dragonheart Mage, perhaps). One of the incarnum classes (Incarnate or Totemist, don't remember which, from Magic of Incarnum) has a Soul-meld that adds a breath weapon type attack. I think it was some sort of acidic spit, so maybe the Ankheg Breastplate. And if you're looking at races, you could always go with a Dragonborn of Bahamut (once again, Races of the Dragon, and ECL 0) and choose the heart path. That's what I can recall off the top of my head. There might be others out there, but I can't check right now. Hope that helps though.
