| El_Machinae02-14-05, 02:09 PM | More and more prestige classes are coming out in an attempt to bribe the druid into multi-classing and taking prestige classes. What's funny is how STACKED these prestige classes seem to be with their benefits. Full arcane and divine casting and continuation of class features. Fochlurian Lyrist. Arcane Heirophant. And yet none of them seem to be competitive. The Daggerspell Shaper is a good example. None of the prereqs are 'useless' feats (as compared to feats like "Knight of the Stars" or "Destructive Rage"), I mean TWF and WF feats aren't all that bad in some builds. And the bonuses from the Shaper are wicked cool. Not teh ubar, but still wicked cool. And yet, I bet very few will be using that PrC and say it's better than straight druid ... though having a use for magic daggers is a god-send. One of the players in my campaign has a druid 8 (with the scribe scroll feat). We're thinking about multi-classing into Arcane Heirophant after going through wizard to qualify. Normally, it would be a tough decision to multi-class to wizard - the druid already having the Scribe Scroll feat even makes it tougher to decide. In the end, it might not happen. All I'm saying is that there are awesome PrC's out there that non-druids drool over. But for the druids? Not so hot. |
