Brief apology to the board in general [Archive] - Wizards Community

08-03-04, 02:56 PM Apologies for the off-topic nature of the post, but I felt that I owed this to more than just the specific people I'm going to name.

Folks, I've been a jerk lately. I've been needlessly belligerent, and overly argumentative over minor things. I'm not going to attempt to justify or explain that; I'm simply going to apologize to the boards in general, and to theGregorian and SnowSavant in particular, as they have borne the brunt of it.

I will attempt to keep this tendency in check in the future.

08-03-04, 03:17 PM I often find myself doing the same on those boards where i feel exceptionally emoptionally attached (raw deal) and being overly bearish. We all do it. Be well.

08-03-04, 04:01 PM I rarely do that in CO board, but I am quite harsh on other WoTC boards. Nice gesture Caelic, I hope it will make TheGregorian feel a bit better as he seemed a bit ****** off on that uncarnate thread. Take care.

We need more articulate, creative, opinionated, and knowledgeable posters around here. And you fit that bill, IMHO.

Besides, we need more "characters" on this board. And people who like to mix it up ... albeit with decorum, respect, and what-not.

08-03-04, 05:04 PM Thanks, Snow. That's good of you to say. I, for one, love to debate, and I debate hard and I take no prisoners...but sometimes I lose sight of the fact that it's easy to cross from debating into browbeating, and that my opponents sometimes aren't enjoying themselves.

When I get to the point where people are telling me, "You're being a jerk, please go away," it's time to step back and take a deep breath.

All I can offer in my defense is that I generally do take that step back and say, "Yeah, you're right, I'm being a jerk."

08-03-04, 05:18 PM I'm actually surprised he did'nt rail on me...I think I've been more of a jerk then C...mainly because he remind me exactly of one of the people that I play with who's fond of making wonky builds based off rules he misinturpreted or just made up and won't let it go that it's against the rule. Stops the game for 2 hours just to tell him no. I personally thought you weren't being a jerk...at least not so much as I was...it's just that the beligerence got to me.

I personally love the heated debates... it's what gives flavour to this whole thing.

We are all avid love-stricken games. More than natural that we end up having a couple of, erm, unrespectful banters from now and then.

In the end, it's all good... right? ;)

No, the discussion was about Caelic's attitude or lack thereof. My request was for a link to another thread. Though the whole thread is off-topic for this board, this board seems to have a closer-knit group of posters; I just wanted to interupt Caelic as little as possible.

This board has GREAT posters--so polite. Great entertainment between clients. Best board of the bunch.
