| PhoenixInferno10-16-06, 03:21 PM | And...we care because? What are you looking for? Sympathy? Advice on where to take your character? |
| Prominence10-16-06, 03:22 PM | ASA is generally broken. It should have never been printed. If you don't have an optimization question, "What's a Player to Do?" is a better forum for this. edit: and PhoenixInferno is now officially my favorite forum regular. |

As is a second grade grammar course... |
| Cooconutmaster10-16-06, 03:26 PM | Im looking for a character that he wont be able to say something but can keep up with every one.....we use all the core books....all the compete books...if you could help me straiten him out with the brokeness...basicly i want to show im what brokeness is |
| Prominence10-16-06, 03:28 PM | Druid 20. Please read the posting guidelines. They're in the sticky at the top of the page. My most powerful build reserved solely for dealing with this is "Player Talk To DM 20." It's where you, the player, talk to the DM about the situation. Revolutionary and strong at all levels. |
| Garfield10-16-06, 03:55 PM | And...we care because? What are you looking for? Sympathy? Advice on where to take your character? And you continue to be an pompos a*****e because....? |
| Muriqui10-16-06, 04:00 PM | You are doomed |
| Pallin Rahl10-16-06, 04:09 PM | Broken...Broken...Broken!!! Marsha... Marsha... Marsha!!! *stomp foot* O_o Wait... that's not very D&D... Uh... Marshal... Marshal... Marshal!!! :P (see your MH for more details ;)) |
| rilem10-16-06, 04:32 PM | And you continue to be an pompos a*****e because....? Hey, Phoenix helped the OP more than you did. He at least solicited some additional feedback. |
| Garfield10-16-06, 04:38 PM | if by helped you mean be rude then yeah, ok, and for what you have told me, i bet hes the kind of person that helps at the begining and when hes settled he starts that arrogant atitude. Thats not helping. |
| carnivore10-16-06, 04:38 PM | just play a Druid 20 or Cleric 20.......or for a Core only game...try this: Cleric 8/ Loremaster 7/ Thaumaturgist 5.....it will be very strong quickly if you play it correctly :D |
| OldManWinter10-16-06, 04:41 PM | Check out the Single Class build thread, (in the sticky) there are a lot of great builds that are within the books that you're allowed to use. if your DM can't deal with that then perhaps he needs to visit the 'What's a DM to do?' forum. |
| Lilt10-16-06, 04:53 PM | The simple answer is to teach your DM what broken means. By this I don't mean "bring teh uber character of death to the t4b13!!!!!111one". I mean actually teach your DM what is broken and what is not. Show him the infinite loops, show him things that are massively overpowered, and show him the basics of character optimisation (why take X when you coudl have Y?) Your DM has heard that it is his job to keep broken things out of the game. Unfortunately he does not know what broken means, so he labels anything which is merely powerful as broken. Once you've opened yor DM's eyes to what he actually should be looking out for, you have a far better chance of getting an optimal character through. Also, urge him to ban Assume Supernatural Ability, which is actually broken. If you do that then at-least you show some interest in keeping the game balanced. |
| carnivore10-16-06, 04:55 PM | heres a real Broken build: Artificer 20 :D |
| X-Codes10-16-06, 05:08 PM | if by helped you mean be rude then yeah, ok, and for what you have told me, i bet hes the kind of person that helps at the begining and when hes settled he starts that arrogant atitude. Thats not helping. One word: Irony. No wait... that would require that Garfield actually have helped in this thread... PhoenixInferno maintains the posting guidelines of the forum. He has a right to get a little peeved when people don't pay attention to his fine work. (Especially considering how much easier the forum would run should everyone follow the posting guidelines.) Tell your DM that he should let everyone play the same things. If he lets one guy use a feat and tells another guy that they can't, then leave. If there aren't any more DM's in your area, then theres this little thing called the internet. While these guys are generally picky about spelling and/or grammar (and reasonably so), you can still join games at www.giantitp.com and www.dndonlinegames.com if you must have your D&D fix. The games on these websites often go rather slowly, but you can generally join 3 or 4 active games and occupy yourself for ~1 hour a day with D&D goodness. |
| Tleilaxu_Ghola10-16-06, 05:24 PM | Actually, according to the announcement: Running down a new poster who asks a question in an un-optimized format is a warnable offense. PhoenixInferno, for all his good intent, actually is violating the announcement rules. Being a regular does not make him above the "law" as it were. Now I know I'm not the paragon of posting, and I freely admit that. So please don't think I'm a hypocritical ass. All I'm saying is that no one has the "right" to demand a certain posting format and no one has the "right" to be rude. |
| WizO_Autumn10-16-06, 06:08 PM | T_G took the words out of my mouth. There is no need to be rude to someone obviously unfamiliar with the posting formats/ policies. That being said- this thread is off topic. There isn't an optimization question in it, and thus will be *locked* Try the What's a PC to do board, as suggested. Good luck! |
