| TinManFan11-19-05, 04:43 PM | Lookin for a good rapier (Or elven thinblade) swingin character. Thing is, don't care if it's a melee or magic user. Thinking either a Elven wizard bladesinger (w/ arcane strike and sub lvls to get a +8 on init by lvl 3) or a swashbuckler/duelist/tempest/assasin whatever mix. Basicly, I askin how to make these characters to overcome their armor restrictions and increase their survivability. Don't wanna spend 5 rounds buffing. My party usually only takes 3-4 rounds to off the bad guys. Thank y'all very much. |
| Seerow11-19-05, 04:52 PM | Duelist and Tempest don't mix well, iirc Duelist doesnt let you hold a weapon in your off hand. |
| TinManFan11-19-05, 04:57 PM | Just saying you can make anything in there, don't have to use the listed PrCs or Base classes. |
| DrowSmurf11-19-05, 05:05 PM | if you like the elf swashbuckler idea then try that PrC from races of the wild... the Champion of CL, by 2nd level to get Dex to damage... |
| Wordsmyth11-19-05, 05:17 PM | Swashbuckler and Champion of Corellon Larethian both give +DEX to Damage when using a finessable weapon. The ironic thing is that this favours a two-weapon fighter, not a one-handed rapier wielding swashbuckler. Still, it works. |
| Prominence11-19-05, 05:43 PM | swash gives +int, not dex to damage. |
| X-Codes11-19-05, 08:40 PM | Swash 3/Rogue 3/Fighter 2/CoCL 2/Dervish 10 Int, Dex, Str to damage plus an extra 5 from Dervish and... yeah. Use the Court Sword and the "slashing" armor spikes (I think they're in Underdark, not certain...). |
| AramilWindwalker11-19-05, 09:39 PM | those are probably callled armor razors, i would imagine |
| Timlagor11-20-05, 01:18 AM | Swash 3/Rogue 3/Fighter 2/CoCL 2/Dervish 10 Int, Dex, Str to damage plus an extra 5 from Dervish and... yeah. Use the Court Sword and the "slashing" armor spikes (I think they're in Underdark, not certain...). Oooh now that is a neat weapon combo. Shame I can't use those spikes. If you drop the Rogue for Ranger in that build you can take 2 levels of Wildrunner for an addition 10' move and the Primal Scream (+2Str +6Dex Con-based duration; 3+Cha/day; no penalty when it wears off). There's also something to be said for taking another 4 levels of WRunner for Pounce [a truly silly rules item imo] in which case you've pretty much given up on Dervish.. |
