| Kevtar01-19-06, 10:13 PM | Hi all, With all the excitement over "Races of the Dragon" and kobolds, my playing group has decided to have an all-kobold party. We decided to roll for stats instead of the usual point-buy and this is what I got (in no particular order): 15 14 17 11 15 14 Not too shabby. NOW- I have no idea what I want to build. So I thought I would leave it to the experts. What are some fun builds that you can think of using the following guidelines: No Psionics No splat books with the exception of an occasional one or two feats (the DM gets the ultimate decision), and the following classes: Samurai, Scout, and Warlock. Only 1 Prestige class per PC. Those were the only guidelines given. Usually, I play a PC and never multiclass so it's somewhat difficult for me to come up with good multi-class combos, so any help you can provide would be great. I'm open to any suggestions. Thanks in advance! |

Otherwise...see if you can finagle the following: Cobra Strike Monk 6/Initiate of Draconic Mysteries 4/Dervish 10 Here is my quick breakdown: Flaw: Murky Eyed Monk 1: Dodge*, Improved Unarmed Strike*, Combat Expertise, Alertness (Flaw) Monk 2: Mobility Monk 3: Power Attack Monk 4: +1 Dex Monk 5: Monk 6: Spring Attack, Weapon Finesse (Unarmed Strike) Initiate of Draconic Mysteries 1: Initiate of Draconic Mysteries 2: +1 Dex Dervish 1: Underfoot Combat Dervish 2: Dervish 3: Dervish 4: Confound the Big Folk, +1 Dex Dervish 5: Dervish 6: Dervish 7: Improved Trip Dervish 8: +1 Dex Dervish 9: Dervish 10: Improved Natural Attack (Unarmed Strike) IoDM 3: IoDM 4: +1 Dex |

If you can, I'd make an addendum to Tweedledope's suggested monk build. Take the Dragonwrought Kobold feat from RotD, which changes your type to Dragon, and then pick up the Rapidstrike feat from the Draconomicon. |

No one has bought the book yet; we've just geeked out over it at the table, BUT I'm sure someone will pick it up soon, and when that happens, I'll bet some things will be added. The DM is open to an occasional feat, so I should be able to talk to him about the feats discussed in your posts. Do you guys have any suggestions for strictly core classes/Prcs? Thanks. |

Without splatbooks, though, an Arcane Trickster won't be much use until level 10 or so. Kobolds always make respectable Sorcerers and Rogues. But your best shot is still a Druid: Str 10, Dex 13, Con 12, Int 15, Wis 17, Cha 15; take Natural Spell at level 6. The Ride skill and related feats may be handy for the first few levels, until you get Wild Shape, because you can ride your medium-sized Animal Companion around. |
