| Glorr11-19-03, 04:05 PM | i'm wondering how to build a jedy, what feats, class and items starting on lvl 15? i can use the dmg, pm,and all other splatbooks. thx:D |
| T-REX11-19-03, 04:17 PM | For a Yoda-type character you should choose a goblin as race and only put one skillpoint in Common... :D T-rex |
| ikkonoishi11-19-03, 04:24 PM | A Jedy? (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=jedy&btnI=Go) Well I guess you could max out wilderness lore, knowledge(local), and intuit direction. Or if you mean Jedi. Take wizard with force-like spells. |
| ninjarabbit11-19-03, 05:11 PM | My idea for a jedi. Monk1/paladin2/cleric 12 (I choose cleric over wizard and sorcerer for more hp and BAB and that jedis were a part of a religous order) Domains-either law, good, knowledge, protection, and/or strength depending on rping preferences weapon- greatsword, bastard sword, or two bladed sword depending on preferences feats- depends on weapons and stat abilities, also lightning reflexes, iron will, prefered metamagic feats, and improved initiative |
| rilem11-19-03, 05:39 PM | Maybe he means a jetty. You just take a bunch of rocks and stack them in a long line in the water perpendicular to the shore. To make a Jedi, your best bet is to base it of the Psychic Warrior -- lots of nifty feats and force-like powers. Perhaps a PsyW13/Telepath3/Monk4. Gets you 5th level PsyWar powers, Even Psion levels for Suggestion, and the monk unarmored stuff. If you don't have the Psioncs Handbook perhaps: Monk3/Sorceror6/ShouDisciple/EldritchKnight10 -- The Shou is for the martial weapon proficiency. Bard8/Ftr2/Bladesinger10 |
| MarkusH11-19-03, 06:05 PM | If your GM allows Psionics, Human Psion 2/Monk 3/Soulblade 10. You will have to take Inner Strength 3 times to qualify for soulblade, though. If you don't want to take Inner strength for your first three feats, take Inner Strength once. Monk 2/Psychic Warrior 5/Soulblade 8. If the DM doesn't allow psionics and only allows core, Human Fighter 1/Monk 2/Sorcerer 6/Eldritch Knight 6. If he allows OA, then rilem's build may be superior. |
| Kethka11-19-03, 06:18 PM | Don't forget to make your weapon of choice brilliant energy asap ;) |
| Matt Neuman11-19-03, 06:42 PM | I would stay away from magic use for the most part, jedi just aren't that flashy. Psionics would work best if you are allowed to use it. Either way, I'd suggest Master Samurai as a PrC for a jedi. A lightsaber is closest to a bastard sword in my mind. I'd go for: Fighter 4/Monk 4/PsyWar 6/MaS 4/NotCM 2 Or, if you don't have access to psionics: Fighter 4/Monk 4/MaS 6/NotCM 6 |
| rilem11-20-03, 04:55 PM | Master Samurai makes sense, but the mounted-feat requirements seem kind of a waste. I think you can get away with a spellcasting Jedi, as long as you aren't flashing and stick to the mind-trick stuff. Maybe: 1. Monk1 — IUS, , Stunning Fist, Dodge, WF (UA) 2. Monk 2 — Evasion, Deflect Arrows 3. Sor 1 — Eschew materials 4. Sor 2 5. Sor 3 6. Sor 4 — Power Attack 7. Monk 3 — Still Mind 8. Sor 5 9. Sor 6 — Weapon Focus (bastard sword) 10. Shou Disciple 1 11. Eldritch Knight 1 (Blind Fight) 12. EK 2 (Silent Spell) 13. EK 3 14. EK 4 15. EK 5 (Spell focus – Ench) 16. EK6 17. Shou 2 18. Shou 3 (Still Spell) 19. Shou 4 20. Shou 5 (Martial Flurry) +16 BAB, Five attacks with flurry, Six with haste Monk3/sorceror6/shou5/ek6 0 — Resistance, Detect Magic, Read Magic, Mage Hand, Ghost Sound, Open/Close 1 — Charm Person, Feather Fall, Expeditious retreat, Jump, True Strike 2 — Blindsight, Blur, Hurl (Dragon Mag spell), Detect Thoughts, Invisibility 3 — Arcane Sight, Dispel Magic, Suggestion, Haste 4 — Locate creature, Charm Monster, Scrying 5 — Telekinesis, Mind Fog or Dominate Person 6 – Mass Suggestion |
| Araciel11-20-03, 06:00 PM | You need to make a template/class/PRC for a jedi. if you've played the AWESOME Knights of the old Republic for X-box and soon, the PC, it uses the 3rd edition rules, and it is the best conversion i've seen (note that i have not looked at the Star wars d20 game at all) in that game, there are three types of jedi, the guardian, which is a fighter, the consular, which is a wizard, and something else i think....it's been a while since i played it, but the last class is somewhere in between. you may need someone with command, telekinesis, mage hand, jump, detect thoughts, detect alignment, etc. for all the force powers the light saber is easy. a +whatever brilliant energy bastard sword which, by flipping a switch on the handle, can retract the blade. once again, in the game, there were power crystals which one could find and put into the lightsaber to give it special abilities, make it more powerful, etc. |
| Glorr11-20-03, 06:50 PM | thx all sorry for the missunderstanding i meen ; i can use the pm, dmg, song and silence, sword and fist, tome and blood, masters of the wild, psion m ( i dont have it:( ) and arms and eqiepment guid. THX |
| Glorr11-20-03, 06:56 PM | and about your idea with the retracteble basterdsword is cool, but how can i make it or what sort of enhancment or what weapon. my idea whas the gloves of storing. |

| Araciel11-20-03, 07:10 PM | thnks MIB...thats what i thought, but didn't wanna say it and be wrong. as for the idea of playing the in the star wars universe? i'm torn as for the retractable part, i don't know....just add the prereq. to create the item as that hidden chest spell or whatever. |
| rilemathome11-20-03, 11:46 PM | For the sword, find the stats for the Wand of Force (Temple of Elemental Evil, I think; maybe the A&EG). Basically as close to a lightsaber as you'll get in D&D, even more so than Brilliant Energy, I think. |
| Araciel11-21-03, 12:07 AM | but a lightsaber IS brilliant energy BTW: leomund's secret chest is the spell to make the blade disappear and reappear on command. |
| catharz11-21-03, 12:26 AM | Originally posted by Araciel but a lightsaber IS brilliant energy Ya, but a lightsaber can cut nonliving material too ;) And a modified glove of storing would also work. |
| Araciel11-21-03, 01:40 AM | ah yes, of course i forgot about that damn living material...ya can't kill whats already dead...when will mortals learn... yeah the glove of storing WORKS...but it's not authentic...of course, if he wanted to go authentic, i guess he'd just play SW |
| A Man In Black11-21-03, 04:34 AM | Hm. I'd say Jedi Guardian 10/Jedi Master 10 should serve your purposes nicely. Not elaborate, but definately effective. |
