| Televolt03-17-06, 09:38 PM | Hi guys... :D I became with the idea to fight real players instead of NPC's. this job I'll make with my friend. It'll be two LVL 20 characters, Evil. We are using the core books and every other suplement, minus the Psionic book. So our char will be twims. The intention is to kill the party I mentioned before, and steal the artifact (Deck of Many Things) they have, and delay the group. In the game history, the dragon's town (Dragonarien) was betraied by some dragons and now Dragonarien is being attacked by a large number of dragons and other people. This party (the goody one, wich have the artifact) is trying to ressurrect a guy called Snake who's suppose to help saving Dragonarien. There is where the evils character I'm trying to make enters. We have to deley that party (if possibly by killing them), so we can destroy Dragonarien. About the character, I was thinking of some stelth guy, to get them supriselly, or any very destructive guy. I'm not too good with spells becouse there's so many of them and I get lost using them  ... About the personality, no idea at all. So I'm asking you guys some ideas so I can create with my friend these twins killers... well hope this information helps. If need more, just tell me that I could improve the details. I'm very sorry about the bad english. Since I'm a brazilian guy, my english is not that improved. Thanks guys. ;) |
| Kresalak03-17-06, 09:49 PM | You mentioned the name Snake, so I have to say get your DM to allow Awaken to work on Vermin, and play an awakened Kenyan Mangrove Monstrous Crab (http://wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/fw/20040221a). Barring such extreme evil that makes Asmodeus cry, you might want to consider my new Lord of the Lower Planes build, which I believe is currently on page two of the forum. Alternatively, you could go with the Ur-Priest. My favorite is the Ur-Theurge, of which my favorite is Wizard 5/Mindbender 1/Ur-Priest 2/Mystic Theurge 8/arcane PrC 4. Or, y'know, use both. So what resources do you have available? |
| Televolt03-17-06, 10:01 PM | We're using every suplement, minus the Psionic book. |
| Kresalak03-17-06, 10:37 PM | Yeah, you wrote that in the first post. I think this day have proved that I possess the Innatentive flaw. Ok, so would you like me to explore the twin theme, or just give some nice builds? |
| Televolt03-18-06, 03:53 PM | Ok, so would you like me to explore the twin theme, or just give some nice builds? I'll be more interesting explore the twin theme, don't you think??? Twim theme + nice builds. :D Thanks Kresalak |
| Televolt03-20-06, 10:34 AM | Can someone help here?? Changed my mind. It doesn't matter the evils characters being twims or not. I just want the most powerful and destructive build for a lvl 20 guy. All books and suplement. No Psionic. thanks :P |

| Televolt03-20-06, 06:20 PM | Thanks man... many thanks. If you guys have more idea, no problem at all... If you want, you can help me about the itens too... I got 760.000 gp to spend. Thanks |
| Kresalak03-20-06, 07:50 PM | I've got a pair now. Behold, the shameless self promotion Lords of the Abyss! One is a Cleric 5/Dweomerkeeper 5/Fiendbinder 10 who binds Maraliths, then uses a Supernatural Monstrous Thrall to make them into Monstrous Thralls. The other is an Artificer 20. There names are-bear with me here- Aameul and Hethradiah. *Whistles* |
| Televolt03-20-06, 08:19 PM | very cool... :D but in what books I can find those??? |
| Kresalak03-20-06, 08:48 PM | Dweomerkeeper is in the web enhancement for Complete Divine. The Domination domain (Monstrous Thrall) is in Complete Divine itself. Fiendbinder is from Tome of Magic. Artificer is from the Eberron Campaign Setting. By the way, make sure to later give your Maraliths levels in Blackguard. It's important. |
| KAVU200203-20-06, 09:10 PM | I infer that you are playing the bad guys, and you will be fighting a whole party of good guys. So will you be outnumbered? Also, are you familiar with the specific characteristics of the party members? If so, are you allowed to use that knowledge in your builds? If you are outnumbered, you may need very stealthy characters. Characters that can kill and then escape easily. BTW, I hope you are joking about your spell knowledge. You will need to be very comfortable with magic to be effective at this ECL. |
| World Savers Inc.03-20-06, 11:54 PM | for a relatively simple build Bard 8/Virtuouso 9-10/Sublime cord 11-12/Virtuouso 13-20. more a more mindcontrolling character. |
| Encard03-21-06, 01:46 AM | I have to run, but take a look at the builds in the Handbook in my sig (second post) - the Evil Clawed Meatgrinder and Warlock-Scout might be particularly of interest. Should you choose the Warlock-Scout to base your character off of, I recommend Chilling Tentacles, which can be brutally effective against anything that can't grapple quite well. Eldritch Chain is highly recommended as well. |
| Televolt03-21-06, 09:17 AM | yeah, i'm gonna take a look at them. thanks again fellows. :D |
| KAVU200203-21-06, 09:10 PM | You need to think tactically with this build. For example, it would be very helpful if you could take out one party member and then escape BEFORE you can react. To do that you need three things: 1) A way to hide that will defeat true sight. 2) A devastating silver bullet spell 3) A good way to escape I am not sure about number one. Two ideas come to mind immediately. One is the "hide in plain sight" ability. Another is races with extraordinary (non-magical) camoflage abilities. You could probably post #1 as a separate question and get lots of good answers. Number two is easy. Just choose something especially devastating to the target. For example, a maximized empowered energy drain vs a caster, or dominate person vs a fighter. Another devastating spell would be mords dis on anyone. Number three is also easy. I would use a quickened dim door to escape. If you had dominated someone, you could take them with you. After a couple raids like that, the odds may be more favorable. So in my opinion, you should decide upon tactics and THEN do the builds. |
| KAVU200203-21-06, 09:16 PM | The sudden feats are really awe-inspiring with 9th level spells. IF the party was inexperienced with high-level games, you might be able to take them out with one devastating surprise attack. For example, during your surprise round dominate the fighter, then cast a quickened, maximized empowered time stop. During the time stop gate in some balors or solars, and buff them. THEN fight the rest of the good-aligned party. |
| KAVU200203-21-06, 09:23 PM | Another excellent tactic is to gate in something VERY nasty that you cannot control, then leave. For example, on one occasion my cleric opened a gate to a primal fire elemental with fifty hit dice. I was totally unable to control it, so I immediately cast a quickened dim door. But I had cast the gate within an enemy city. It proceeded to burn that city. On that occasion I was very lucky and very smart. The DM rolled percentage dice to determine its action...it might have ignored the gate. But once it decided to attack, the rulers of the city could do nothing. I mean, they summoned a balor to fight it. But the balor only lasted one round. |
| Kurama Youko03-21-06, 09:45 PM | Here is my entry for this little pool of evil. Human Favored Soul 1st-9th Feats: Dreadful Wrath, Skill Knowledge (K.Religion), Iniatite of Shar, Touch of Benevolence, Mother Cyst, Divine Disciple 10th-14th Feats: Whatever you like, Fiend of Possession 15th-20th Feats: Whatever you like. Fiend of Possession is the real treat here. The Prestige Class can be found in the Fiend Folio. Hmm, now that i think about it. a Star Elf with the Other Wordly Feat is considered a Outsider.. once he can cast 8th lv spells he could cast PAO on himself to become a Tanarri permenately and entire the Prestige Class that way, or have another wizard cast the spell on him at a lower lv so as to entire the prestige class. |
