I am attempting to build an epic-ready character from this picture, but I'm running a bit low on inspiration. Any ideas?

And for the record, I didn't draw this.

looks like a TWF'ing catfolk dervish to me, or maybe a gish

To keep it accurate, make sure the character sucks at drawing, has a lisp, and no friends.

Ya know, Narcanos, if you don't have anything to say but baseless insults don't bother posting.

Back on topic: I was thinking some sort of Catfolk TWF or Harpooner gish, but I'm stuck for class/feat ideas. Is it worth spending a feat on EWP: Dwarven Double Spear or is there a martial double spear somewhere?

Hmm...
race: catfolk (obviously)
weapon: twf, ewp: valenar double scimitar (or whatever it's called, from an Eberron book I think), don't bother burning a feat for the whip unless you really want it
class: ranger for the TWF, possibly some dungeon crawling PrC (Darkrunner from Lords of Madness for 4 levels is very good), and the bandolier makes me think of Dread Commando (Heroes of Battle)

Hmm... unless you are specifically looking for an optimized character you might want to try to get some RP & mechanics help from the character development board.

I am, in point of fact, looking for an optimized character. This is a possible backup character for an upcoming epic-level campaign, and since I don't know where it would come in at, I can't develop that aspect very much yet. So, optimized build ideas.

Maybe a lycanthrope harpoon bard?

It's kinda hard to come up with a character concept to match a picture. If we knew more about the character (excluding a possible build), then that might help.

The race is catfolk (argh). I'd probably suggest a couple levels of fighter and leaving the rest as rogue/bard.

Charisma-monkey? Bard, Snowflake wardance + Fighter (or swashbuckler or duskblade or whatever)

I'm thinking Temple Raider of Olidamarra and/or Thief-Acrobat might be involved. I think a Talenta Tangat (Races of Eberron, Eberron CS) could be a good proxy for that weapon.

Isn't there one class that allows you to be treated as an elf? E-something? You could use that to get into Revenant Blade, to maximize the usefulness of that Double Scimitar.

This is a low(ish) INT build for a Bard, because CHA needs to be buffed along with STR and CON. Other Attribute requirements are taken care of by the Catfolk race. Bard gets you Skill points to ease entering the PrC with suboptimal INT, and the ability to wield the Whip in the picture.

(Eberron) Catfolk Bard 1/Monk 9/Vigilante 10 (buy off LA; there's an XP penalty without a generous DM houserule)
Level 1: Bard 1 - TWF, EWP (2-Bladed Sword), Extra Music, Murky-Eyed, Shakey
Level 2: Monk 1 - Stunning Fist
Level 3: Monk 2 - Weapon Focus (2-Bladed Sword), Combat Reflexes
Level 4: Monk 3
Level 5: Monk 4
Level 6: Monk 5 - Double Steel Strike
Level 7: Monk 6 - Improved Trip
Level 8: Monk 7
Level 9: Monk 8 - Alertness
Level 10: Monk 9
Level 11: Vigilante 1
Level 12: Vigilante 2 - Snowflake Wardance
Level 13: Vigilante 3
Level 14: Vigilante 4
Level 15: Vigilante 5 - Improved TWF
Level 16: Vigilante 6
Level 17: Vigilante 7
Level 18: Vigilante 8 - Dual Strike
Level 19: Vigilante 9
Level 20: Vigilante 10

You end up with a marginal +14 BAB, but decent damage output with the Smites, good defensive capabilities (Improved Evasion, Mettle), self and party-buffing ability, and are epic-ready.

The vigilante build looks nice, I might have to play around with that later.

So far I like the Temple Raider/Thief-Acrobat idea best. Probably with a feat-rogue base for TWF feats, or add in some Master Thrower and throwing feats (harpoon instead of double scimitar).

Thanks, guys, I've got my inspiration back.
