| Stickboy232312-12-06, 07:34 PM | I have a preliminary build idea for an upcomming Savage Tide campaign and I need a little help figuring out what feats to take and whether or not my PrC choice is optimal. Abilities have not been rolled yet but the 4d6 drop lowest method will be used. All books are pretty much availiable but psionics will not be used. The rest of the party is looking like a Rouge/back-up fighter type, a Ranger/Leviathan Hunter (based on Queequeg from Moby Dick) and a Druid/Wavekeeper with his giant squid companion. Half-Elf Bard 1, Half-Elf Ranger 1, Marshall 1, Swashbuckler 1, Half-Elf Paragon 3, Human Paragon 3, Crimson scourge 10 Base Saves 15/15/11 BAB +16 I will get Urban Tracking, Skill Focus: Diplomacy, Weapon Finesse, Special Dispensation and Improved Disarm as bonus feats. This leaves me with all nine of my regular character feats open. My basic idea for the character is to have him be a smooth talking dude with the ability to back up his mouth if he gets in over his head. Diplomacy and Intimidate will be maxed out at every level and the rest of his skills will probably be CHA and DEX based. My first idea was to take Goad along with Combat Expertise and eventually Improved Combat Expertise to get enemies to attack him and then let the rest of the party gang-stomp 'em. I think I'll probably take Leadership ASAP to fill any holes in the party (arcane caster) and the whole Destiny tree of feats to help his survivability. Also, any feats that take advantage of a high CHA would be great. I like the Crimson Scourge PrC (Cityscape) but I'm not sure if it's the best PrC for what I want. I'd like to keep both Paragon classes. If Crimson Scourge goes then Ranger can go too. Heck, Swashbuckler is only there for the free Weapon Finesse and skill set. Any ideas or suggestions are welcome. Thanks. |

If so - you NEED a Druid. As far as I know there is no rule against spellcasters, and there will be a Druid in the party. Like I said, Leadership = Mage. If you're not planning on having a high Int, then I'd tell you to ditch Swashbuckler for Swordsage 3, giving you Assassin's Stance (+2d6 Sneak Attack) and the Shadow Blade feat (Dex to damage with Shadow Hand weapons while in a Shadow Hand stance). I own Tome of Battle but have not yet used anything from it in-game. Maybe I should look it over again and see what fits with the build idea. Are there any good CHA based classes or PrCs in ToB? I'm thinking his abilities will be from most to least important CHA, DEX, CON, INT, WIS, STR. Maybe I'll switch around the DEX and CON depending on how his hitdice fall. Anybody else? Feat ideas? PrC suggestions? Thanks. |
