Here’s an exercise for you min/maxers. Almost all of these threads concern individual characters fulfilling particular party roles. I’m playing in a large party and there are enough players to fill the standard archetypes. Therefore, I am interested in making a good support character, to be the spackle to keep the rest of the party together.

The challenge: to make a 20th level build with the best diversity of party-supporting abilities.

The sources: any WOTC v3.5 core compliant books, including the Players Guide to Faerun and Complete Warrior/Cleric. No Unearthed Arcana, Oriental Adventures, or Dragon mags.

The dice: Oh, how Tymora hath blessed us with: 18, 15, 14, 13, 12, 12

Here’s my sample build. Please feel free to critique or submit your own. For the sake of brevity, I have only included pre-req skills and feats I like.

NG Lesser Aasimar, Fighter 1/ Cleric 1/ Bard 1/ Marshal 4/ War Chanter 10/ Wizard 3

STR14 CON15 DEX12 INT13 WIS12+2 CHR 18+2

The theory: is to chant and cajole my companions to victory! Annoy foes with pesky arrow-biting action, or lay about with a good reach weapon. Be the Face, perform the occasional minor buff, and CLW those fallen out of death’s door! Yessir, she looks like an XP wreck for sure…

Be a druid. You can wildshape into someones mount while casting spells at the same time.
