Take an established race, modify it a bit, rewrite flavor, add a few templates...

Okay, this is something like me thinking aloud, partially.

CR 24, mathematically. Not quite that strong since I'm playing agaist it's natural strengths.

The Youngest Daughter

Concept:
hypothetical Recurring Villain for my 17th lv players:
A female Tanar'ri Wizard. Pretty much unkillable, except with CON drain. Can naturally be trapped in many creative ways. Should be a schemer/manipulator, yet pack enough punch for an interesting encounter.

Uses Disguise Self to appear human, natural shape attractive, yet clearly inhuman demoness with bat wings, fangs and claws.

Trick: TK abuse with greatswords. ( technically, she just needs to have her 9HD underlings possess mwk greatswords. )

Note to self: Needs at least 10 possession-capable 9HD underlings. Lilitu? Maybe Chasme....

Hopefully, she'll be left to regenerate in peace. No contingency, quite...

Not sure about feat and spell picks. I could make her a diviner, for more spellslots. I'm considering using Chaotic planar sub trick.

Spell tactics: Tentacles, Cloudkill, Fireballs. Summon demons, too.
She's a wizard, thus she can have practically any spell known, just not memorized.

Some defensive spells always prepared.

Spell picks... well, I'll need to check Spell Compendium, these are mainly from the SRD.

One part of the point is demonstrating how some of the less usual spells work. Or rather, how a less blastery caster works.

Vulnerabilities:
Stat drain, mental effects, save-or-dies.

Items:
Definitely INT-boosting. Some sort of robe, a cloak, could have
all sorts of odds and ends, really.

Levels:
wiz10/Blackguard2. Dropping blackguard would almost be worth it, since I
could just use the prereq feats to Great Fort, Iron Will & Unnatural Will.

I'd get 6th level spells, 2 better Will and 1 worse Fort saves that way.
...Which also shows how sucky Blackguard is: Suboptimal picks like the +2 save feats are actually kinda _better_ than BG. Ugh. I wonder, which is worse, Blackguard or Death Delver? Digressing.
