We'll, most of the archer threads use a bunch of stuff I can not. I'm limited to complete, core, sandstorm, frostburn, and the races books.

Starting Stats: 16, 12, 15, 12, 14, 19 and 3 extra points I can put into anything.

My current build is:
Wood Elf (+2 str, -2 int, +2 Dex, -2 con)
Str: 20
Dex: 22
Con: 13
Int: 12
Wis: 12
Cha: 12

1. Ranger - Favored Enemy (still undecided), Track, Point Blank Shot
2. Fighter - Precise Shot
3. Ranger - Rapid Shot, Weapon Focus (composite longbow)
4. Fighter -
5. Ranger - Endurance

And then Order of the bow, but I am unsure of what other feats/other classes to take

cleric 1 / ranger 19

Persistent Arrow Storm and Arrow Mind. Grab the distance enchantment and Nightsticks.

Yummy.

Plus, rangers make good archers anyway.

Cheers

a 3 level dip in cragtop archer(races of stone) can give you strike from above and arcing shot, which bump your damage and range. farsight lessens your penalty when shooting from long distance. a 4th level of CA can give you horizon shot, a full round action that lets you shoot one arrow, any distance you can, without any range penalty. add far shot AND arcing shot and you have a HUGE range.

Order of the Bow Initiate has been nerfed since 3.0, but remains good if you want a sniper char. not so good if you want a flurry of arrows, but nice for a 1-shot sniper char. you want at least 2 levels of OotBI. close combat shot is far too nice to give up...

weapon = greatbow (comp. war). the range + power easily makes up the need for 1 extra feat, if you look at a sidebar in comp. adventurer, it even says that the greatbow feeds of any longbow feats, so weapon focus(longbow) boosts your greatbow's attk bonus. same goes with weap.specialization.(your dm may rule against it though) this bow is VERY costly to buy, a comp greatbow(+4) is 1000gp...

Kensai(comp. war) is always nice. though you get the clerics BAB, this makes it easier by allowing you to give up a few XP to give your main weapon bonuses.

out of curiosity, how did you get a 19 base stat? your stats are pretty well as they are. dex, str, and con in that order. as for races stick with wood elf (keep longbow), or go human for the exta bonus feat (greatbow proficiency).

IMHO a better weapon would be The bow of true arrows. every arrow fired gets the effect of true strike (+20 to hit) AND its a +1 mighty composite longbow to boot =3. although the price (4000 gold) might be a problem. I believe the bow can be found in the book sword and fist (i'm just speaking from top of my head ;)

Why not a dragon bone great crossbow? It adds to your base (150 from bow + 20 from dragon bone = 170) and does 3d6 damage instead of 1d10.

That's not how the Bow of True Arrows works. It is a spell trigger item, which means it takes a standard action to activate the True Strike effect, and that effect only gives a bonus on your next single attack.

Psy war and fighter w/ both psionic feats and normal feats that affect your bow. I can't truly remember what levels to go into for each, but I have had a nice build, greater manyshoting a few mindflayers rox.

Typically meaning you have at least one level of Wizard or Sorcerer.

No psionic feats, he banned the book.
No campaign region books either, no eberron/frcs/etc...

Anyways, extremely long ranged is out of the question, he pretty much doesn't give experience if we aren't on the mat with the enemy for more than 2 rounds.
