| Lord Otaku10-09-06, 08:39 AM | I've recently purchased the Leadership Feat for my Tank (LV 11) Human, and have used that to create a Cohort Gnome Cleric at LV 8 (I wasn't sure if I should multi-class with the other level, and have held off.) I've invested no Healing Spells into the Cleric Spell slots , as I thought it would be wiser to instead use the Cleric's Spontaneous Healing ability to just convert other Divine Spells into Healing effects and make the Cohort more versatile, and perhaps focus on some buffing spells. I decided on Gnome because she can ride on my PC's back or shoulder when the s*** hits the fan, and stay close for protection (this is a very combat heavy game), and because D&D Gnomes have fun racial traits. Does anyone have a better suggestion on how to build a Cohort that is focused on Healing? Any main book spells you'd recomend? My DM is not shy about increasing the encounters challenge ratings, and I want to make sure I'm as up to the task as possible (especially since I'm thinking of adding the Half-Celestial Template to the Tank, which would severely weaken her. Yeah, I'm stupid  , but I'm dieing to play it for RP reasons, so I'm trying to optimize in other areas, like Cohorts, so I'm not totally self-neutered.) |

Favoured Soul 5/Combat Medic 4 Talk to your DM to exchange all Armour Proficiencies and the free Weapon Focus feat for Healing Hands (special ability of the Healer). I built one of these recently. He was a fun concept, if only because undead take one look at him and wet their pants. |

Well, to be honest, that's not a very useful task. There are a bajillion and 5 cleric spells, and your cleric knows *all of them*. So, um.. just experiment I guess. =) |
| Dragon310-09-06, 11:21 PM | Any cleric build that can cast spontaneously like a sorceror on all spells. I'd rather have flexibility. |

| Lo77o10-10-06, 12:38 PM | Artificer 9 Make him craft a few wands of cure x wounds. Other then that, make him craft scrolls of buff spells from all classes that you would like. When/If **** hits the fan, and healing might not be enough to save your bacon, let him blast thrue a few wands doing massive amount of spike damage. Just dont use it to often as it is extremely expensive without the right feats/infusions ready. |

Sounds lame, but when you add in all of the bonus' for healing from the healer, and mix it with the radiant servent of pelor's empower abilities, add in all of the special healing powers from turning feats like Sacred Healing and Sacred Purification, Augment healing, tack on a good charisma you have a healer capable of healing you and your allies insane amounts, all the while destroying undead. Plus if you go to Healer 8, you get a unicorn companion, which can heal even more, plus provide tough mobility for your cohort. Laslty, the healer can heal other problems(poison and blindness) without resorting to memorizing new spells for the day. I played a healer/cleric combo like the outlined one above through the age of worms as a cohort, and it ended up outshining my main a few times(Fighter) and I played a Gestalt Healer/Paladin throughout Red Hand of Doom and I could heal 1d8 +30 with a mass cure light wounds. |
