I'm trying to help a friend out buillding a pirate charater based off of Captain Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribean. I've never seen Pirates of the Caribean so from my angle this is just a pirate character. The game is a mixture of (3.0) and (3.5). We use (3.0) core books, but have acsess to (3.5) prestiege classes/feats etc. We may use any book published by wizards of the coast.
---------

We start at level 3
Ability Points: Most likely 36 pt point buy. Not sure yet.
High Dex
Int
Con
Str
Wis
Low Cha
Anyways, here is my idea.

Human
Swashbuckler 1-3 Rogue 1 Fighter 1 Ranger 1 Duelist 1 Dervish 1-10 Rogue 2-3 Fighter 2

In place of the last 2 rogue levels, and second level of fighter, I could place Holy Liberator 3, but that just seems out of place for a pirate - and would cause some serious MAD.

As far as gear goes, he will be using a scimitar, and most likely dual wielding once he gets a better attack bonus.

Feats:
1 Dodge(Weapon Finesse)
1 Mobility
3 Weapon Focus: Scimitar
5 Combat Expertise
6 Improved Disarm
9 Improved Critical Scimitar
12 Supierior Expertise
15 Karmic Strike
18 Combat Reflexes
20 Expert Tactician

I'm not sure of these feat choices, so suggestions are appreciated.

The dread pirate PrC from Song and Silence seems tailor made for your character , he even gets free two weapon fighting :D

I designed (but didn't play) a character alot like that, once.

My build was:

Swashbuckler 3
Fighter 2
Bard 1
Outlaw of the Crimson Road 4
Duelist 4
Drunken Master 1
Dread Pirate 5

But my guy was a major drinker/partier, so maybe...

Swashbuckler 3
Fighter 2
Bard 1
Dread Pirate 10
Duelist 4

If you really want a char like Jack Sparrow, you have to get a good Cha along with low Wis. I would use Rogue mainly and get Bluff quite high.
