09-14-04, 10:27 AM Hey folks,

I've been perusing this forum, espcially the thread on PsyW builds, but haven't found anything that really pops out at me, and my grasp of 3.5 is only so-so at the moment, as I'm still fairly new to it compared to 2nd Ed.

Here's what I've got:

Brand spankin new human psychic warrior
Stats:
STR 16
DEX 16
CON 16
INT 12
WIS 18
CHA 12
(really, really lucky rolls on char creation)

As a regional bonus feat, he has bullheaded (+1 to will / +2 to intimidate)

For 1st level I was anticipating taking Brawny (DR 2/-, which is an older feat but my DM still allows), and possibly Stand Still / Combat Reflexes going for a control build.

Power-wise I was thinking Expansion to further the control access and at 2nd level getting Spiked Chain to increase his reach to 15' with 4 AoO's to keep opponents from being able to close.

Any thoughts on what I should scrap / change / plan toward? With him having Combat Reflexes, I was thinking going DEX at level 4 and working on that and maybe taking Weapon Finesse or leading into Elocator.

09-14-04, 10:38 AM Psi-Warriors make great chain-users, especially with a level of Barbarian.

Human
Barbarian 1: EWP Spiked Chain, Wolf Berserker
Psiwarrior 1: Improved Trip
Psiwarrior 2: Combat Reflexes, Extra Rage
Psiwarrior 3: ....

continue PsiWarrior to at least level 6 for the double-Expansion. Consider a couple levels of Exotic Weapon Master for another +2 to trip and the ability to make AoOs against foes with cover.

At level 2 your character's trip bonus will be: +3 (str), +2 (rage str), +1 (expansion str), +4 (size), +4 (imp trip), +4 (wolf berserker) = +18

09-14-04, 10:47 AM The only problem I have with Barbarian is it doesn't fit RP-wise, sorry, I should have pointed that out.

Background wise, he is NG with lawful tendencies, about 20 years old with minor military experience in city guard as a foot grunt, and the son of a psion.

EWM or maybe PWM might be a good thing to look into, though, and Improved Trip or possibly going the Disarm route... hrmmm
