Hey, I came up with an interesting idea...

Technically you can make an Effigy Tarrasque without it losing too much in the way of abilities, so... I was wondering what was the minimum level at which this can be done, and that basically boils down to answering the following question:

What is the minimum character level for which someone would have a caster level of 48 for the purpose of crafting effigies? :)

wild mage 1 level lowers the minimum to 45th, and that's as far as I can take this.

whatever it is, its still going to be far into epic levels.

You do realize that you'd lose the Tarrasque's unique Regeneration, unique Carapace, Spell Resistance 32, and tremendously powerful DR 15/Epic (in place of 15/Adamantine), along with a hideous drop in Frightful Presence DC, if it even keeps the ability (the wording isn't entirely specific; it could be inclusive or exclusive on the Special Abilities bit), right?

That said, I'm pretty sure we can manage this pre-epic, though exactly how I'm not certain.

By the way, Wild Magic doesn't seem to apply here. It apparently only functions on spells cast, not item creation... interesting.

And I know it goes against the Commandments, but for the purposes of creating your effigies, Effigy Master levels stack with caster level, a Wiz15/EM5 has a CL of 24 for these things, without Practiced Spellcaster. I know I've seen similar effects before, somewhere... no idea where, though.

Ah... True that about the special qualities...

*Sighs* still, what is the maximum HD that can be reached?
