building a whip user, need help [Archive] - Wizards Community

I'm so far only convinced that 2 levels of lasher is needed. Can anyone provide some nice juicey ways to make a whip user rock?

Lasher has prereqs of +5 BAB, EWP (Whip) and Weapon Focus (Whip)

Since you want a high dex (as the Whip Dagger uses your ranged attack bonus) you might as well go the light armored fighter route:

Swb: Swashbucker (Complete Warrior)
Derv: Dervish (Complete Warrior)
Lash: Lasher (Sword and Fist)

01 Swb 1 Combat Expertise, Combat Reflexes
02 Swb 2
03 Swb 3 EWP (Whip), (+Int to Damage)
04 Ftr 1 Weapon Focus (Whip)
05 Ftr 2 Dodge
06 Lash 1 Mobility, (Whip SA +1d6, Close Combat, Wound, Whip Lash)
07 Lash 2 (Improved Trip,Third Hand)
08 Lash 3 (Crack of Fate)
09 Derv 1 Improved Disarm, (DD 1/day, Slashing blades)
10 Derv 2 Move +5
11 Derv 3 Spring Attack, DD 2/day
12 Derv 4 Dance of Death
13 Derv 5 Move +10, DD 3/day


You could either continue adding Dervish or Lasher levels depending on what special abilities you want. You could also add levels of Rogue for more sneak attack dice.
