As it was pointed out the other night, this does merit its own thread, so it's getting one.

Does anyone have any suggestions on a good all around cleric build? I'm looking for something that's almost a multi-caster threat (which'd be a different thread), but that's mostly because I love wizards, but this time I have to play a cleric. The best I've come up with so far is Cleric 1/Wizard 5/Apostle of Peace 2/Mystic Theurge 8/Dweomerkeeper 4 (Advancing wizard).

This is decidedly suboptimal, as VoP is less than great, and the AoP spell list is pretty limited. I was going to try for an Ur-Theurge build originally (Cleric 1/Wizard 4/Runesmith 1/Ur-Priest 2/MT 8/Dweomerkeeper 4), but Ur-Priest calculates caster level differently from AoP, and in a way that isn't helpful. Also, I'd kind of like to play something that's a little more solid on the healing front. Was thinking of taking Spell domain and Healing domain, with spontaneous domain casting for Healing. Or discard the Spell domain and take Initiate of Mystra (I love Anyspell).

What I'm looking for is advice and inspiration. I'd rather not be evil or exalted, and I'm looking for ideas like: Good save or dies for clerics (Is there cleric version of glitterdust/stinking cloud hanging around somewhere?), good cleric PrC's that advance full spellcasting, and anything else you think might be helpful. I'd like to avoid DMM Persistent (though I can get persistent buffs from our group Incantatrix), but mostly because I'm a dwarf, with a lowish Cha (12).

What I've got so far
I did some more crunching last night, and came up with more of a straight cleric idea. Cleric 3/Church Inquisitor 4/Sacred Exorcist 3/Harper Paragon 3/Contemplative 1/Dweomerkeeper 4/Church Inquisitor +1/Harper Paragon +1.

This gets me Archon spells, as well as some nice class abilities, and I'd enjoy the challenge of being exalted. It doesn't look bad, but doesn't strike me as fantastically optimal. I'm using Sacred Exorcist's Chosen Foe to qualify for Harper Paragon, and that got okayed (Chosen Foe and Favoured Enemy are practically the same thing).

Projected feats: 1st: Sacred Vow, Magical Training (flaw), Maximize Spell (flaw). 3rd: Mastery of Day and Night (Credit for this goes to the Cleric Handbook on the boards. Good find for a low level healer, I think). 6th: Initiate of Mystra. 9th: Vow of Obedience. 12th: Nemesis (I've got Favoured Enemy Evil at this point, might as well put it to use). 15th: Sacred Vitality (Or any other divine feat that strikes my fancy). 18th: Arcane Mastery (Because I didn't have room for it any earlier. I'm not sure how useful it is in high end games though).

I was planning to use the Embrace/Shun the Dark Chaos trick to swap out Maximize spell with another metamagic feat, and Mastery of Day and Night for something else at higher levels, when cure spells become less useful, but I'm not sure.

I'd love to hear anyone suggestions for feats or alternate PrC's that I haven't considered.

Variants used: Flaws
Books avalable: Any 3.5 WotC except for psionics, ToM, ToB, and MoI (so all the sort of external rule systems). No PrC's from Dragon or Dungeon, and any feat from there has to be in the Crystalkeep index.

Well, I would be wary of being exalted (and lawful) and using Embrace/Shun the Dark Chaos - I think it has the evil descriptor, which is a big no-no.

Oddly enough, no. Embrace has the chaotic descriptor, which just means I need to get my wizard buddy to cast it instead of me.
