Yo guys, 1st post here :)

I've got this character, a Human Paladin lv 10, with the Saint Template.

It's a 33 points build plus +2 (lv 4 and lv8), but the initial Max Charisma needs to be 17 (no more or less).

The only class limitation is that I need to have an Special Mount at lv10, and I need to cast Detect Evil at will. I also need to be all way Lawful Good, as should not have any level of Barbarian.

I've got up to 200k gold to spent on equipment (no individual item may cost more than 90k, and no magical bonus may be higher than +3 (I mean, I may have a Armor +3, or a Ogre STR's +2), except for the greatsword, which is Naturally Holy, and may get +3, totalizing +5).

I may use any WotC official book/we, but I would like you tell me which book is each thing please :)

So, I'll tell you about my need...

Since I'm the leader of the party, I do believe I need good Sense Motive and Diplomacy skills. I was thinking about some Background skills, but I skill thinking about it :( I'm stupid, you know :)

Anyway, we've no "working" cleric. The Lay on Hands is a Need (my former paladin could heal 90+ hp at once!). I do know that Cleric spells are more than just healing, but the party don't need it for now, and I'm a party player (unfortunately).

I've got a flying mount (enhanced by magic), and mount based magic items would be nice. Since we spent half of the time in dungeons and other mount-unfriendly places, Feats and mount classes wouldn't help :( that's sad, because I saw some really good builds out there.

Since we have plenty of Tanks and Ranged-Guys (1 fighter, 1 barbarian and 1 ranger), there is no need for a frondlined (but a charger may work). What I do most of the time is to backup the Wizard and the Rogue (and the ranger sometimes). I would prefer a Defensive Build (with some abusive saves, AC, charge monster, and preferably with some MR)...

I Do know (as I was reading past paladin posts) that paladins are underpowered, and ppl here don't like them. I just beg you that you do not ignore me, because I want to help my group the maximum I can, and I need you people to help.

PS:
Can you post me links for must-read Paladin related posts (except the FAQ related stuff)...

Guys, thank you!

Defender of Sealtiel (Book of Exalted Deeds) might work well for you. It gets Defensive Stance like the Dwarven Defender, but trades damage reduction for cool spell like abilities. It gets the detection skills as class skills so that's pretty good if you want to be a shield for your party's soft underbelly. Hospitalier (Complete Divine) advances mount capabilities and Lay on Hands, which makes it a pretty good class for your needs.

Clerics are useful for more than just healing though - they get the best buff spells in the game. Its not that Paladin is bad, its that straight Paladin loses a lot of power when you lose the opportunity to multiclass in the Prestige Classes.

Have you considered a bard? The perfect support character, it can support all the characters, heal with wands & fight if need be. What more could you want? I once played a paladin2/bard10/divine exorcist2 (didnt get very long into campaign) & found it very enjoyable. And since then i think there may be feats in CA which make them mesh more easily anyway. Be a cha monkey!
