| marrithl208-10-06, 01:30 PM | I was looking through a few of the older posts and liked what I saw with Caelic's jack quick (?- can't find the actual name of the character build). As of late we've been playing in gestalt campaigns so I figured I'd modify this build and add to it to make it "better" with the gestalt aspect. I haven't had too much time to sit down and work everything out, but here's what I'm thinking: 1) Monk1/Ranger1 - Improved Unarmed, WF (longsword), Dodge 2) Monk2/Ranger2 - Evasion, Combat Expertise, TW Fighting 3) Fighter1/Hexblade1 - Combat Reflexes, WF (battleaxe) 4) Fighter2/Hexblade2 - Cleave, Arcane Resistance 5) Fighter3/Hexblade3 - Mettle 6) Fighter4/Tactical Soldier1 - Improved Trip, Improved TW fighting, Flanker 7) Fighter5/Tactical Soldier2 - Sidestep 8) Fighter6/War Hulk1 - High Sword Low Axe 9) Fighter7/War Hulk2 - Karmic Stike 10) Fighter8/War Hulk3 - Double Hit 11) Fighter9/War Hulk4 12) Fighter10/War Hulk5 - Robilar's Gambit, Mobility 13) Fighter11/War Hulk6 14) Fighter12/War Hulk7 - Elusive Target 15) Fighter13/War Hulk8 - Power Attack 16) Fighter14/XXX - Defensive Throw 17) Fighter15/XXX 18) Fighter 16/XXX - Overpowering Attack, *Extra Feat 19) Fighter 17/XXX 20) Fighter 18/XXX - *Extra Feat XXX: These extra levels could be used for anything from more monk levels, psi-warrior, or a level adjustment (which will probly be necessary for becoming large size to qualify for War Hulk) Tell me what you think. What I'm really looking for are suggestions on reflex and will save improvements, a way to use my fortitude save instead of reflex or will, and a level adjustment or something to make my character large. I really would like to be human and I think I heard something about making a human large size, but I'm not sure. (I like the idea of being an orc, minotaur, and ogre too. :P ) Thanks in advance!!! :) |
| Archimedes31408-10-06, 02:51 PM | Overpowering attack is a variant fighter class feature, not a feat, and can only be selected at 16th level. |
| marrithl208-10-06, 03:09 PM | Thanks, i guess I must've messed that up when I added in the Monk levels on the figher side. Easy enough though... just switching Defensive Throw with Overpowering Attack. |
| PhoenixInferno08-10-06, 03:23 PM | You could use the Decisive Strike alternate class feature for Monk, instead of Overpowering Attack. |
| marrithl208-10-06, 03:39 PM | Wow, Thanks Pheonix that's a great suggestion... but after looking into more I see that it only works with the monks special weapon or unarmed attacks and I'll be using my Sword and Axe so that wont do me any good... But it would've been really cool to get that kind of power at first level. Any ideas on the LA racial problem? Or the extra 5 levels I have? |
| Skadrian08-10-06, 03:55 PM | LA takes up both side of gestalt, so be carefull. Half ogre is a nice way of becoming large, LA +2 from RoD |
| marrithl208-10-06, 04:01 PM | Oh, I always seem to forget to mention this part: We have house rules that a LA takes up just one side. It's pretty nice when you're trying to build a tough character. (though it isn't the way the rules intended it to be) |
| marrithl208-10-06, 08:44 PM | Okay so I've decided I'll be a human and will have a mage caste enlarge person and permanency on the spell so I'll be large size. So Now I've got 3-5 class levels to take and 3 Extra feats to choose. Can anyone suggest anything? |
