Outsider Subtype 03-29-04, 11:31 PM	It seems to me that the new Bloodline of Fire feat in the Player's Guide to Faerun offers great potential, especially when combined with the Calishite Elementalist and Genie Lore feats from Races of Faerun. Here are two builds that immediately came to mind: Evoker 5/Elemental Savant 10/Archmage 5 1 Bloodline of Fire, Spellcasting Prodigy, Scribe Scroll 3 Calishite Elementalist 5 Energy Substitution (Fire) 6 Spell Focus (Evocation) 9 Greater Spell Focus (Evocation) 12 Spell Focus (Transmutation) 15 Skill Focus (Spellcraft) 18 Improved Initiative This build naturally leads to the question if Energy Substituted spells that are changed to use fire gain the benefits of Bloodline of Fire. Common sense would say yes, but I don't think Energy Substitution explicitly states that it changes the spell's descriptor. The other idea I had was: Sorceror 6/Incantatrix 10/Arcane Devotee 4 1 Bloodline of Fire, Iron Will 3 Calishite Elementalist 6 Empower Spell 7 Extend Spell 9 Spell Focus (Evocation) 10 Heighten Spell 12 Greater Spell Focus (Evocation) 13 Quicken Spell 15 Genie Lore 16 Enlarge Spell 18 Improved Initiative This build is much better at metamagic and can cast spontaneously, but has much weaker skills, can't scribe scrolls, and has none of the Elemental Savant DC or penetration boosts or Archmage abilties. I couldn't make room for Spellcasting Prodigy but sorcerors get more spells per day anyway. This one also has the advantange of using only up-to-date 3.5 material. How would you tweak these builds? Which do you like better?

Outsider Subtype 05-27-04, 04:47 PM	You are correct that Genie Lore is a regional feat and could not be combined with Bloodline of Fire. However, Calishite Elementalist is not regional, at least according to my PGtF. Therefore, it could be combined with Bloodline of Fire. So basically, the Genie Lore feat would need to be replaced with something else in the second build - a minor change. Edit: you might want to check the dates on some of the threads you've posted on recently. Some people get annoyed when long-dead threads are resurrected.
Nazzareth 05-28-04, 09:11 AM	Take the pyo feat from song and silence. and spell thematic from PGTR. the pyro feat can be used with the flaming sphere and flaming sword, spells as the spells can ignite flammable substances, it works great with the druids inferno spell. The pyro is also great for the 2nd level wiz\sorc combust spell
