Hello,

Just found the spell Calm Emotions, does it work on humanoids? It seems according to the spell description that it only affects creatures. Is there a errata or something because I know some people here said it can be used to remove a Frenzied Berserkers Frenzy.

Is there any other means to stop the Frenzy from going on (except casting Hold Person or such)?

Calm Emotions, Sleep, subdual damage below -10 arguably, can all stop a frenzy.

If the FB loses the save.

Yes it works on humanoids. "Creature" is not a valid creature type, therefore anything that is susceptible to mind-affecting effects would be affected.

Besides that, repulsion and/or sanctuary are nice effects to make sure the FB doesn't attack you. It doesn't stop the frenzy exactly, but minimizes its effects.

Fluffy white bunnies are allies of the Frenzied Berserker, so when he frenzies, they frenzy, too. So they get enough HP to survive a few rounds...

How many bunnies does it take to get to the end of a frenzy?

BEST way to stop a frenzy if the FB take levels in the Defender of Thay PrC (or whatever that one is..Thayan Knight?) and have a red wizard in the group cast anything on him... he automatically fails the save. Of crouse... that means 2 people making builds around it..but it can be fun.

That's a GREAT idea!

Barbarian 6, Sorceror 1

Why sorceror? So you can have a familiar! The familiar will ride on your back and toss bunnies out of your bag-of-tricks. The familiar will be intelligent enough to know when to do so. You'll have to work on timing the throws, because the FB will likely get cleaves.

Another technique is to reduce their strength below 13. Get your familiar to "hold the charge" on a ray of enfeeblement (which isn't an actually valid spell, I guess, but think of another spell). You can't resist your own spells ... viola! It'll tag you with a ray to ruin your strength, dropping you out of the FB prestige class.

Couldn't the FB voluntarily fail a save?

Couldn't the FB voluntarily fail a save?In a frenzy, the Berserker cannot distinguish friend from foe. As such, would you willingly fail a save from an enemy?

Turn everyone invisible. That'll put an end to the Frenzy.

Half Elf Bard Level One Substitution. Will basically allow a Will save equal to a diplomacy check for a calm emotions. Check the Races of the Wild for more information.

We had a vampire in our team use dominate gaze on him and just make the punk calm down. Not everyone has a vampire on their team though...
