Can a dweomercheater replace a mage in an iconic 4-person party? [Archive] - Wizards Community

04-24-05, 10:16 PM I've been granted the task of planning a relatively iconic 4-person party by my DM, though they are all members of a single church. I am currently thinking of a Radiant Morninglord of Lathander build utilizing divine metamagic persistent and various turning feats for healing, undead control and secondary tanking. I want to make an Ascetic Rogue (Rogue1/Monk1/Rogue2-19) for the face/infiltrator/investigator role. I need to put together some sort of holy warrior, and an arcane caster. But I was also thinking that a Dweomercheater might be worthwhile... hence the question. Can I replace the arcane caster with a Dweomercheater, or should I stay with a classic mage build?

04-24-05, 11:34 PM A dwomercheater will likely overfill the role of iconic arcanist. Be careful that it doesn't unbalance the party.

The Dweomerkeeper is a perfect fit for the campaign world, where the majority of powerful magical artifacts, particularly evil ones, have been collected into a vault that is guarded by the monks and clerics of one specific faith. Such a Dweomerkeeper would be a Black Librarian, a divine caster who has conducted extensive research on the contents of the Library and can make use of arcane spells via his incredible understanding of divine magic.
