Off the top of my head they need ranks in Arcana, Spellcraft, two Spell Focus, Skill Focus in Spellcraft, cast 7th level spells.

I believe a sorceror can qualify for Archmage without Arcane Preparation, no?
There's a substantial spells known requirement that is a real annoyance for sorcerers. At least in 3.0 there is, although it might have been changed.

They need: Ability to cast 7th-level arcane spells, knowledge of 5th-level or higher spells from at least five schools.

That's not that hard to do. It just means you need to pay attention to what spells you are learning.

You need 5 schools in 6 spells known. As long as you plan for it you shouldn't have a problem.

03-22-04, 11:56 AM Also, keep in mind that if you go into this as at 15 level, your are going to pick up a new 5th, 6th and 7th level spell right away so you can go back to your more focused ways immediately on entering the class.

03-23-04, 11:09 AM yeah the varying schools needed is a non-issue really. There's more than one decent spell in every school. Just be sure to take them through the levels.

I bet we could make a must-have list for the sorcerer now, easy! Not a full comprensive list, just one spell from each school that can be anywhere from 1st to 7th level.
