| nilcat09-15-04, 06:07 AM | For an upcomming campaign I'm condisering playing a elf/werewolf (lythari (sp?) from Races of Faerun). We start at 3rd level, and by using the rules for powerful races (-1 on attack, saves, skills etc. per "level above party") I can create a Fighter 1 lythari (ending up with 3hd and -2 on most rolls). How can I develop this creature as a melee-fighter (or is it already hopeless because of the +2 LA)? Going for unarmed combat seems fun, but the damage seems a bit low (2d4 + 1d6). Can this be remedied by feats or other classes in any way? |

Of course, if the character has been to Rashamen and a has a Barbarian level, I'm sure that he could gain enterance to the lodge fairly easily. The feat is in Unaproachable east. Improved trip, on the other hand, is a no-brainer. Any wereworlf without improved trip is basically shooting themself in the paw. |

It also has the measure of DR X/Silver and all that. But I made a good Natural Werewolf Meleer, he specialized in Claw to Claw combat (because he was good aligned and the curse can only be inflicted via the bite attack). I suggest taking a variety of weapons though. Playing a PC with DR (10/silver!) that can be penetrated by a specific metal makes you keenly aware of how necessary it is to be able to penetrate the DR of your enemies. |
