Can I get an Amen? Anyone got any good Evangelist builds?! [Archive] - Wizards Community

09-10-06, 12:38 AM I posted a gestalt one that works pretty well, but I was wondering about single class builds that work with evangelist, namely because their level 5 ability allows you to convert anyone or anything to your cause.

Here's a start : Bard 6/Evangelist 5

Ok, this is for suggestion several times a day and a pretty standard opening. I really don't know any way to improve on this, except maybe Marshal for motivate charisma (but I don't have the book).

Feats
1st: Negotiator
Human:
3rd:
6th: Leadership
9th:
12th: Extraordinary Concentration

Evil Evangelists have a serious advantage over good ones, namely the ability to lower will saves by 4, which makes their conversion ability more powerful.

Could go into Mindbender. At least 1 level wouldn't hurt.
Ur Priest wouldn't be a bad followup to catch up with spells
Apostle of Peace would be a good for exalted people with vow of poverty for the same reason.

Any Ideas?

09-10-06, 12:39 AM Ah, my friend. This brings back memories. I used that exact phrase in the title of an old Evangelist build that once held the record for buff-less Diplomacy checks.

09-10-06, 12:59 AM half-elf bard sub levels. Mix that with evil evangelist and 1 level of binder (to nab the naberius vestige).

Naberius lets you take 10 on diplomacy and make a rushed diplomacy check at no penalty with a standard action.

Half-elf bard sub levels let you use a calm emotions effect with save DC = diplomacy check.

Now, mix that with an enchantment build focusing on domination effects. -4 to will saves + diplomacy + calm emotions + std action diplo checks. You should be able to smooth out any situation in the blink of an eye.

09-10-06, 02:19 AM 1 level of Warlock could net you the Beguiling Influence evocation which nets you something like +10 to bluff/diplomacy/intimidate if I remember correctly.
