Can I use Ootbi's ranged precision as part of a manyshot? [Archive] - Wizards Community

12-28-03, 01:23 AM I've got a sneaky suspicion that it doesnt though. Ideally, I'd like to make a manyshot at a target within 30ft and then add the precision damage from the OotBI too (i.e. 3 arrows in a manyshot plus ranged precision +2d8 would be 5d8 dmg in a single shot).

Can this be done?

12-28-03, 01:28 AM is this the one from complete warrior? if so, then no you can't combine them because they are both seperate standard actions.

Hmm, you're right I suppose. Ugh (shakes head) was making a ranger/fighter/order of the bow initiate and now i think ootbi is quite crap really, so i need to restart my character...

12-28-03, 10:51 AM If the DM'll let you try it, see if you can use the OotBI from 3.0. It never hurts to ask. The 3.0 OotBI is a good PrC, unlike that PoS they published in the CW.

And I think that your proposal is good except for the BAB requirement. You can't get it as a PrC ability until 15th level. The BAB prereq for a similar feat should at least be +15 BAB, if not more. Personally, I don't think it should be a feat, but if you can convince your DM, more power to you.

12-28-03, 06:12 PM My human Fighter 12/Ootb2/DWS1 just made his debut and I'm completely happy with him. The Ootb Ranged Precision isn't as good as Many Shot but he's got +30/+30/+25/+20 for 1d8+12 as a full round attack and I love how many feats he has. Many Shot is +24/+24/+24 for 1d8+12 each and Ranged Precision is +31 for 3d8+13 (within 30' so Precise Shot helps here). Since he's already got Greater Weapon Focus and since Improved Precise Shot is better than the Shape Shooting Feat I suspect I'll just keep taking DWS levels.
