Hi Guys.
I have played this guy for a while in this stronghold campaign the DM created, and I have really painted myself into a corner.
Iīve gone 4 levels rouge and 3 levels swashbuckler, and am at a loss what to do next. Both rouge and swashb. kind of sucks the next couple of levels, so Im looking for a PrC.
My stats are str14 dex18 con16 int14 wis13 cha17 (nice rolls, I know). Human, rapier, weapon finesse/focus, dodge, mobility, tumle up the wazzoo, the whole bit.
-And Im starting to hate him. Problem is, the DMīs not to keen on killing off players just because their not 100% happy, so here it goes:

Does anyone have an idea for a PrC I could take?
Can get most books, and anything goes.

Yes, it can be saved.

Step 1: buy Complete Scoundrel

Step 2: suck it up for two levels. Take Fighter. Get some interesting feats.

Step 3: take the feat that lets Swashbuckler advance your sneak-attack dice. At 12, take the feat that stacks Fighter and Swashbuckler for feats.

Step 4: take Swashbuckler all the way to 20.

Well, the question you should be asking yourself is "Why am I not happy with the character?" If its because he's not effective in encounters, then we can help - whether the encounters are combat-oriented or not. But if you're not having fun for other, roleplaying reasons, then its something that we might not be able to help with. Please ask yourself that question.

What is it about him you hate? Boring? Underpowered?

Also, what books are available to you?

Wht race are you?

The Daring Outlaw feat from Complete Scoundrel (Swash and Rog stack for sneak attack) is an excellent choice. You qualify for it already as well.

The one for fighter feats just lets you stack levels for the purposes of feats that require Fighter Level X, but doesn't give you actual bonus feats. In other words, it sucks balls.

I'd suggest you take Bounding Assault (PHB2) for an extra attack when Spring Attacking (BAB+12 prereq).

For PrCs, there's Nightsong Enforcer (Complete Adventurer) or Scarlet Corsair (Stormwrack). If human I'd suggest rebuilding for Able LEarner at 1st level and then going Chameleon (Races of Destiny).

Mostly though, I'd suggest you mix in some Tome of Battle maneuvers - Warblade is the obvious choice for Int synergy, but a bit of Swordsage for Assassin's Stance & Shadow Blade would be an excellent idea. Something similar to this (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=770008) would be a good place to start for some ideas.

In a campaign where skills are as useful as they are in mine a build of Rog 16/Swash 3/Full BAB 1 is a really strong choice. I agree with pheonix Inferno here ... what about your character are you unhappy with.

I'll echo the Complete Scoundrel bit if you're worried about being "optimized".

I'm playing a rogue3/swash3/Thief acrobat2 at the moment, and it's so much fun. I can pretty much get out of every "Sticky" situation.

So I'd suggest you look at Thief Acrobat from Complete Adventurer!

Sounds like a great character to me. You are still low enough level and got so many good options. What everyone else suggested most definitely works. I love pirates, so I'd be leaning towards classes like pirate, mariner (from Dragonlance CS) or scarlet coursair. Of course, thief-acrobat and even some of the ToB classes work too.

Take 3 levels of stoneblessed (races of stone) to qualify as a gnome. Go to town with Blade Bravo, and find ways to reduce your size (reduce person, compression, etc). Enjoy roleplaying a psuedo midget that hacks up peoples knees with flair!:D

I like pirates as well, and my initial idea was to build something like that. Only problem is, there is no sailable water.
Anyway, thanks a bunch guys, you have really been a great help. My brain was stuck, but I think I see the way out now.
Peace.
