| KAVU200205-14-06, 08:58 PM | I have two very specific rules questions. 1) If a character only has class levels in warmage, could he become a mage of the arcane order? The character would take arcane prep to meet the "prepare spells..." prerequisite. He would also take the other required feats and skill ranks. I am assuming an environment with no house rules. 2) Would such a character get the full benefit of the calling effect? For example, could a wm 6/ mao 2 call the spell "Protection from Fire" even though it is not on the wm list. |
| pyro_cat05-14-06, 09:23 PM | 1) Yes 2) I think so. Not sure, though. I see no reason that would stop this. However, I don't know if it would really be THAT useful. If you want to expand your spell list, Todd's Warmage Guide thing has a number of great suggestions. |
| ninjarabbit05-14-06, 09:25 PM | 1) Yes though it requires the arcane preparation feat, but on the bright side it opens up quicken spell 2) Yes you get the full benefit |
| PhoenixInferno05-14-06, 09:39 PM | There is also the PHBII class feature variant Eclectic Learning - now you can learn any Wiz/Sor spell that isn't on the Warmage list, if you learn the spell one level higher. |
| KAVU200205-14-06, 09:57 PM | As you guessed, I met to write "Protection from Energy" in my example. I had thought that wm could take MotAO. I just wanted to confirm it. |
| anton106605-14-06, 11:33 PM | My question is if you had a group of MotAO and one of them took extra spell to get cleric or wu gen spells could any of the mages then call that spell? |
| Todd05-15-06, 07:10 AM | If you put a Wu Jen spell into the spellpool then someone could cast it. In one game I played in my Warmage / Sand Shaper / MotAO character gave his MotAO guild access to his first level buff spells like Bull's Strength so that they could brew super cheap potions & undercut a rival's prices. ;) |
