Can we help me build a few good men? (3.5) [Archive] - Wizards Community

I'm about to begin an adventure with a few friends, we'll be level 4, but I expect to reach near or a bit past level 10 when all is said and done, so I want to plan for the future.

I would like to attempt a cleric, maybe a existentialist cleric, if Camus had a cleric. A positive fellow, Chaotic or Neutral Good, seeking to empower people to find their own meaning.

I believe our party will have either 3 fighters and me or 2 fighters and a roge and me, so I will be the only caster. Should I focus on combat spells or healing? Intuitively I think healing, since we have muscle, and clerics and sort of melee, but I could be wrong.

Can you guys sort of map me out how to build a good cleric, or multi-class cleric over 10 levels? I have not played in a few years and have not played 3.5 at all, so this is sort of new to me. Thanks!

Can someone dig up an Elf Cleric Archer for this man?

I would recommend a Human Cleric6/Radiant Servant of Pelor4 for the levels in which you'll be adventuring. Looks like all that muscle with no arcane blasters will be screaming for healing after every battle... ;)

A nice setup to begin with might be Cleric 4, with the Sun and Healing domains.

Cleric1: Turn Undead/Greater Turn, Extra Turning, Extend Spell
Cleric2:
Cleric3: Persistent Spell
Cleric4:
Cleric5:
Cleric6: Divine Metamagic (Persistent)
RSOP1: Extra Greater Turning, Radiance
RSOP2: Divine Health, Empower Healing.
RSOP3: Maybe Extra Turning?, Aura of Warding
RSOP4:

Buff up and go to town! Be sure to remember that RSOP grants you proficiency with all martial weapons, so whatever your fighter buddies don't want, you can probably use.
You will also be one mean healing machine, and should you encounter any undead you'll make short work of them with Greater Turnings. ;)

I would recommend avoiding DMM: Persistent.
Go Summoner/Buffer

Human Cleric: Take the Animal Domain

1) Cleric 1 Spell focus(Conjuration), Augmented Summoning
2) Cleric 2
3) Cleric 3 Extend Spell
4) Cleric 4
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~
5) Cleric 5
6) Cleric 6 Skill Focus(Knowledge Religion)
7) Divine Oracle 1
8) Divine Oracle 2
9) Divine Oracle 3
10) Contemplative 1
Make sure you all worship the same diety. Throw up a prayer or recitation as your first spell in combat followed by either a summon monster "#" or Summon Nature's Ally 4.
I would recommend avoiding DMM:Persistent.Yeah, with that many other people beating on stuff, you can focus on doing other things. I'd get Divine Metamagic: Quicken Spell. It is much more versatile.
Will this build be severly hamstrung if we all worship differently? I think we will have a diverse group, and I wonder if there is a way to tweak this build to accomodate that. Thank you a bunch for the help thus far, though, sorry I'm so rusty at this.
I'm actually curious whether that's legal. Divine Metamagic applies at the time of casting, so it's unclear to me whether it falls under the spontaneous metamagic rules.
Your wish is my command!
Race: Elf
Domains: Elf, Planning
1) Point Blank Shot, Extend Spell, Persistant Spell
3) Zen Archery
6) Divine Metamagic (Persistant Spell)
9) Rapid Shot
Think the feats work in that order. If not, shuffle em around and arrange to taste.
Stand back, shoot things, buff yourself to hell and back, buy Nightsticks!
Of course, you could always toss in some PrCs. Seeker of the Misty Isle is kinda cool, and (according to the text, which trumps the table) has full caster progression. You could also opt for DMM (Quicken). It's cheaper, and you can select a different domain than Planning.
