I was just reading the new Save My Game article... When I got to the bottom, I readthis:
Save My Game: Problem: Weakened Demon Lords (Are They Too Wimpy) (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/sg/20070727)

Making them sort of quasi-deities (divine rank 0 if you're using the new Deities and Demigods...
Is this a misprint or is there a new and/or updated Deities & Demigods in the works?

I believe that is just distinguishing between the old edition version and the "new" 3rd edition.

It's just a reference to the existing Deities and Demigods. It mentioned AD&D Deities and Demigods at the top of the article, so "new Deities and Demigods" was meant to differentiate between the two. It would have been better to probably say "3rd edition" or "D20" instead of "new".

Edit: And I was beaten to the punch. I need to learn to type faster.

At the expense of such wonderful wording and spelling? :P Take your time, we'll wait before throwing the next punch.

I think that a lot of lessons were learn by Wizards staff in the making of Deities & Demigods.

I liked Deities and Demigods (I gather I'm one of the few). I didn't get much actual "game use" out of it (then or now), but it did give me a good idea of how even the gods could be "statted" using 3rd edition rules. If nothing else, the artwork was .

The sad part is it was released prior to the Epic Level Handbook (another sourcebook I liked-- again, apparently being one of the few). The rules for deities don't really mesh well with epic level rules. That, and the fact that both books have since been outdated by the arrival of v.3.5 (the Update Booklet was just a rush job IMHO).

Heck, considering WotC's weak product listing for the next few months, I'd buy an Expanded Deities and Demigods and Expanded Epic Level Handbook in heartbeat. I'm feeling kinda lost really, since I haven't wanted to buy anything since Complete Scoundrel. And now Dragon Magazine is gone . . . I need a D&D fix in a bad way ;).

I enjoy reading the Deities and Demigods and The Epic Level Handbook too, I would also like to see them brought into 3.5
