_Nova_ 06-20-07, 02:30 PM	Hello I already posted a topic in this board saying that I was starting a game related to Demogorgon, in fact my players are gonna be part of a cult of Demogorgon, warring against other cults such as Orcus, Graz'zt, Fraz...etc etc I have a few question about the prince of demons to add to the "lore" of the game 1st: Demogorgon took the title of prince of Demons through sheer might. What are his greatest deeds? I heard more about Orcus deeds (like coming back and slaying divinities), but what about Demogorgon? I know he created the retrivers and the death knights but there has to be way more than this. Anything related to the bloodwar? A victory against the higher planes? Anything 2nd: I always figured Demogorgon to be one of the most crafty Demon Prince, and in the BOVD he has the ITEM MASTER special quality which thends to prove he is crafty indeed. But if you check his stats in the FC1, he doesnt even have ranks in the USE MAGIC DEVICES skill (and hes no longer item master) and that sounds weird to me, always thought one of the strength of Demogorgon would be to create and use unique devices of his own creation... 3rd: I dont have a specific 3rd question right now but feel free mention anything of value about the sibilant beast wether it is cannonical or your own thoughts that you think might help the game thx in advance all hail the twins of corruption!

He can be thought of, in a sense, as perhaps the tanar'ri most akin to the obyrith and this is why Dagon has allied with him...though I also wonder if Dagon created Demo long ago. As others have stated, I don't think of Demogorgon as two heads warring, but something closer to Crowley's Chronozon (sp?) which is a chaotic whirl of evil where personalities arise and are subsumed. Grazz't and Orcus, for all their depravity, cannot grasp this Evil as a Primordial Force concept which is why they cannot defeat the Prince who has, unlike them, become One with the the Abyss. Then again, demons in general and Demo in particular are my favorites so I have a definite bias toward propping up the mandrill faced monster...
Tobias Talco'un 06-20-07, 03:14 PM	You may also want to look at Dungeon #357, which has a more powerful version of Demogorgon than that in the FC1. It also gives some details on his cults, his past, and his achivements. He will also be in Dungeon issue 150. One of his biggest achivements is detailed in the issue of Dragon I mentioned. In short, he destroyed a rival demon lord, destroyed a pathon of gods, and gained a powerful new ally in one stroke. Oh yeah, and he created a brand new type of Abyssal demon, on the side.

Tobias Talco'un 06-20-07, 08:02 PM	Technically, he didn’t. He conned some territorial gods to destroy a demon who was edging into their prime worship pool. By destroying him and his whole abyssal layer, the Abyss destroyed the gods, creating the Dreaming Gulf. It’s all in Dragon 357. All Demo-boy wanted was the Demon lord dead. Everything else was accidental.
pratputajao 06-20-07, 08:31 PM	I would say that if you are determined to use "official stats" just use BOVD. Use FC1 stats for an aspect or avatar.... But you are probably better off using one of the many alturnive Demogorgons out there. Actually there are 2 on Dicefreaks. I believe Kain made his own that is less powerful (but is still an absolute powerhouse)

_Nova_ 06-21-07, 12:11 PM	thx for all the answers Im not really looking for a CR40 or 78 for Demogorgon, even tho there are some pretty interesting things in Sebastian and dicefreak's stats, I just thought about using Demogorgon stats from the FC1 when he's outside the brine flats, but using the BOVD stats (updated to 3.5) for when he is on his personal layer of the abyss I knew about Dragon issue #357 and of course I wanted to buy it (I think it will be released within the next week or something like this). I will also look for savage tide and another question the battle that shook the abyss theres a drawing of Orcus and Demogorgon battling each other in melee. Did that really happened? What was the outcome?
Yakman 06-26-07, 02:54 PM	Demogorgon was also a champion of the tanar'ri when they took the Abyss from the Obyriths. As such, I'd imagine he was one of the instigators of the Blood War...
