This thread is for all your alternative elemental planes. Also, for people to help expand these ideas of mine.

Elemental plane of Acid
Elemental plane of Electricity
Elemental plane of Sound

I'm not talking about sections of the planes that already exist, I mean for these to be full-blown, infinite planes like the others.

Nothing would suck more than an acidborn aboleth creating a perminant gate to the elemental plane of Acid and trying to flood the material plane with it. It's bad enough with the /water/ ones.... but this isn't water! It's freakin' Acid! Water breathing wouldn't work in it either, since acid has no oxygen in it.... you'd have to get Immunity to Acid spells and Acid Breathing spells too.

I did an Elemental Plane of Oil for UnCon two years back - it's like the liquid form of Fire. Cold and Wood exist as possible Elemental Planes in MotP. In some Eastern cosmologies there are five elements, the fifth being Metal. And Void can be considered an element as well.

Elemental Plane of Acid: the native plane of the xac-yij acid energon. Acid-based spells, powers and effects are enhanced.
Elemental Plane of Electricity: there cold be portals to stormy regions of Air, and possibly Positive Energy as well. This is reminiscent of the Quasi-Elemental Plane of Lightning in 2e. The native plane of the xap-yaup electricity energon. Electricity-based spells, powers and effects are enhanced.
Elemental Plane of Sound: there could be portals to the Windswept Depths of Pandemonium. The song-yong sonic energon should be native there. Sonic-based spells, powers and effects are enhanced. Silence effects are reduced or negated.

tecnically sound is vibrations, moviment of something, anything rather than a "element", but I guess it could be something like the Positive/Negative energy plane, maybe a neutral point between the two.

I know 2 kinds of 5 elements cirles a) Normal 4+Void b)Earth, Water, Fire, Metal and Wood, without Air.

In my campaign "multiverse" I have an Elemental Plane Of Storm, mostly because i don't like how "elemental plane of electricity" sound.

Elemental Plane of Storm

This is and empty plane, consisting only of the night sky, full of storm clouds, thunder and lightning from one cloud to the next, powerful winds and a constant rain hits any traveler with full force. Even Air elementals have trouble maneuvering in the storm that compose this plane.

Normal Gravity: All and any objets and creatures in the plane fall forever, from the sky to the sky below.
Normal Time
Infinite
Alterable Morphic
Air-Dominant
Enhanced Magic: All spells that use electricity in any way are Enlarged and Maximized.
Limited Magic: All control weather spells do not work in this plane.

Planes of Acid & Sound sounds good. I think the plane of Electricity [lightning] is between the Air & Positive Planes.

If the world gets flooded by acid from the Plane of Acid, just open a portal to the Plain of Bace to stop it.:P

You know if the Bush administration finds a way to the Elemental Plane of Oil, they will tap it dry (No smocking please!).

I will just avoid the Para-Elemental Plane of Buggers, the Demi-Plane of Foul Smells, and the Negative Demi-Plane of $%!# all together! :yuck:

The Para-Cotten Plane of Missing Left Socks is a nice plain that is keeped worm and soft by being connected by countless washing machines.:cloud9:

Well, the only problem with these are is where they fit, as the borders of the planes play a role in at least the Planescape setting and the quasi and para elemental planes existed because they occurred between certain planes.
Having said that....
The Acid one is intriguing. Sounds very dangerous! I can't think of too many monsters that could live there, so you would have to create your own. I had been toying with new monsters for the Scarlet Jungle, which is very acidic, and though some might be coated in slime or mucus to keep off the acid, but that woulnd't be something acid-based elemental creatures would have to worry about.
Electricity already exists.
Sound I like though. That one has real potential for odd creatures. The Mimir websites has mathematical creatures (including 4 dimensional, 2 dimensional and 1 dimensional creatures); why not monsters that are purely sound? White noise anyone (as in the movie White Noise?).
What about shadow? I don't think that has bee as well explored as it could have been.
Clay as a subplane of earth might be interesting.
Organic planes like planes of flesh, bone, etc might be interesting if gruesome or just alien.

If anyone's a fan of Vertigo's Swamp Thing and/or Animal Man...you have the Green and the Red, the former the "plant plane", and the latter the "animal plane".

Green and Red were cool.

What are the five elements of magic? Acid, Sound, Electricity, Fire, and Cold right?

I got this idea:

Elemental Plane Of Acid
This plane is composed entirely by a swamp full of deadly acid so powerful that most materials and/or creatures dissolve in matter of minutes. The atmosphere reeks of acid, and is a poisonous gas. Any creature breathing this gas must make a fortitude save DC 20, each round or be poisoned, initial damage 2d6 damage, secondary damage 2d6 of Con damage.
Creatures native to the plane are immune to this acid and poison.

Normal Gravity
Normal Time
Infinite
Alterable Morphic
Earth-Dominant
Enhanced Magic: All spells that use acid in any way are Enlarged and Maximized.

Elemental Plane Of Sound
This plane lack any terrain, and is in fact and infinite plane full of nothing but air and sound; no light, no earth, no nothing. The only creatures that inhabits the plane are the sound elementals. The air in the plane is dense and feels more like molasses than air, all visitants describe the sounds that fill the plane different, from a simple "buzz" in the ears to celestial music or screams of pain. Few people stay long in this plane as this is a easy way to lose one sanity.

No Gravity: Creatures without the ability to fly (natural or supernatural) can't move inside the plane.
Normal Time
Infinite
Alterable Morphic
Enhanced Magic: All spells that use sound in any way are Enlarged and Maximized.

The Plane of Entirely Too Much Shrimp

It's hard to forget this plane, due to me spitting pop all over my character sheet because of Mookie37 :D

On a serious note, how about emotions? Perhaps a barbarian taps into the Elemental Plane of Rage or a succubus matriarch rules over the Elemental Plane of Lust?

So, who wants to elaborate on the elemental plane of surprise?

[QUOTE=Raiden Drake;12197768]I got this idea:

****Good, good. I would add that it rains sulphuric acid, and that any seemingly solid land is just solid chunks of acid. Maybe it home to two types of quasielements, acid elementals, which are hideously dangerous liquid beings, and sulphur elements, which are less dangerous and gaseous in form.

Elemental Plane Of Sound
This plane lack any terrain, and is in fact and infinite plane full of nothing but air and sound; no light, no earth, no nothing. The only creatures that inhabits the plane are the sound elementals. ***It would probably be like the plane of radiance; sensory overload to planewalkers who were unprepared. Silence 15 foot radius or whatever it is called would be a nice thing actually.
Alternate to having no light one might actually be able to see words and music. Maybe musical notes exist as beings, or some sort of wildlife.
Sound elementals would be creatures that exist as white noise but have some high decibel attack form.
