Hi guys. Can you please tell me if there are any half-elf, or half-drow deities? If so, are there any who were born from other deities, or did they all have to ascend themselves?

The name of the books which they appear in would also be appreciated, but it is not necessary if you do not remember it.

Thanks in advance for the help!

As far as I can tell, there aren't any patrons of half-elves or half-drow specifically. I believe that existing text states that they worship whatever deity the parent they were raised with worshiped. That said, I guess Eilistraee, from the Forgotten Realms would be a likely patron for the half-drow, since (I assume) the half-drow are outcasts from mainstream drow society.

Corellen Larethian, the god of all elves, the halfers to I guess.

There are deities who specifically like to go after Half-elven characters (Sune and Hanali Celanil are specifically cited, for the 'love between their parents'), but there ARE no specifically half-breed deities.

I, on the other hand, made some up for my own homebrew.

Tiirith, Intermediate, Son of a human god and elven goddess, is the leader of this crew. NG bard type. Half-elves are called Halvyr, 'the children of Unity' because of him.
His 'sister', Velathil, is the daughter of a human goddes and elven god. Lesser, more focused on magic, harmony, love.
Ughba, N patron of Ogryn, 'Children of the Ancient', the half-ogres. Hard-working patient warrior type. Ascended child of Ogre Mage and Human."
Gorakk Bloodtusk, LN patron of Urkhar, the half-orcs, the 'children of battle'. Ascended half-orc fighter.
Jestanna, NG patron of the Hynnyl, 'children of the quick', the half-halflings. Rogue.
Kord Blackhamar, LG patron of the Dhatun, 'Children of the Strong', the half-dwarves. Smith/fighter type.

All except the two with divine ancestry are demigods...they sponsored the others to godhood. In my campaign, it was their ascencion to godhood which allowed their races to finally be able to become movers and shakers in the world, and seize control of their destinies. before that, they were doomed to always be in the shadow of other races, and never stand on their own.

Half-halflings? Half-dwarves? Are those homebrew too? If so, what are they like?

Also, why no half-gnomes?

In the Forgotten Realms, Meilliki (I butchered her name) is a half-elf goddess, the only one too. Her father is Sylvanus and her mother is some elven goddess.

For half-drow, Selvetarm (hope the name is alright) is the son of Vhaerun (god what is is it with names tonight.. oh yeah its 3 am) a drow god and Zandillar the Dancer, a Star elves goddess who fused with Bast/Sharess. Selvetarm is with Loth now. Until recently that is.

The best source is Faiths and Pantheons, from the FR setting.

Thank you for the information.

However, are you sure about Mielikkie being a half-elf? I've read her entry in Faiths and Pantheons, but it says nothing about her mother, or whether she was an elf or not. Wikipedia does not say anything about it either. If it were true she would be just what I need.

Its in 2e Faiths and Avatars, sorry. She is said to be the daughter au Hanali Celanil and Sylvanus. I guess they changed that bit of info when they switch to 3e.

In Faiths and Avatars it is said that she is not the daughter au Sylvanus, that its her church who made that up. Yet in Faiths and Pantheons she is the daughter of Sylvanus. Its all up to you. Your character can be part of the sect that believes she is a half-elf.

Eilistraee have half-drow and also some surface elves (and half-elves), BUT non-evil, of course. For the clerics - CG, NG, CN.

But for how long? I read last night that she has now merged with another drow deity, so she is now evil, or possibly dead and being impersonated. I am pretty bummed about this, since there is no longer a drow deity trying to redeem the drow race. :(

Hopefully, this won't happens... But hints are that she may remains even if she change, turning Neutral at worse.

In any case, I am keeping her as she is for MY homebrew. I like her...

Ehlonna is a logical half-elf goddess (since she has both a human and elven form). She's basically the same as Mielikki, anyway.

In Damara (in the Forgotten Realms) Half-Drow worship Loviatar (national religeon) and often Loth as well. Veheraun the drow god accepts any drow blood I think, especially if its male, and upsets his mother. Additionally, his followers were attempting to "assimilate" themselves into the upper world by breeding with surface dwellers too (humans mainly--therefore half-drow).

Eilistraee is changing? What book is that in? That would be a sad day...

I made one for a home campaign.

My human pantheon may have sucked, but the elven pantheon was good.
The son of our main elf deity, Larian, was called Karim.

Domains: Good, Community, Elf, Feast
Symbol: A blue moon and a cutlass

Mielikki/s priests like to tell stories about Sylvanus being her 'father', but there is nothing of the sort. Mielikki is an emigrant goddess, like Tyr. She originally springs from the FInnish Pantheon, and you can read about her in parts of the Finnish national Epic, the Kalevala.

Half-halflings, the hynnyl, are known to exist even in the FR. They are basically just the equivalent of smaller Humans with a dex bonus (like strongheart halflings, more then anything) and str penalty, without being quite small size. They are treated as the better of small or medium when the situation warrants it.

Half-dwarves are also known, even in FR, but dwarven blood predominates there, and first gen dwarves in FR are just dwarves about 6" taller then normal. Dhatun IMC are actually a +1 LA race, averaging about a head taller then Dwarves, and sharing most of their racial gifts. They have a +2 Str bonus, +2 Con bonus, -2 Cha penalty, stonecunning, dark vision, 30' move, and apply their stone cunning bonus when using any masterwork weapon they've made or crafted themselves. They also take the bonus off their Armor Check penalty, and add it to their max dex in armor they craft for themselves. I give em free Improved toughness to offset the level loss of a HD...they are very tough customers, and make no mistake about it!

Ergo, dhatun are VERY good soldiers, crafters and engineers. They look like 6'6 humans squashed down to about 5'6...or dwarves inflated and grown up about a head taller. They have one nasty problem...they can only use universal magic, magic based around earth and its derivatives, or to a lesser extent, fire. Thus, they are excellent geomancers, but can't use most schools of magic at all...even the Urkhar have more magical potential. As arguably the toughest of the Children, the Dhatun generally don't mind.

Going on the part about half-elves worshipping the deity of whatever parent they were raised with, I once played a half-elven paladin of Heironius. My reasoning in that was that he was orphaned in a werewolf attack on his village when he was just an infant, and the Heironian paladins who came to the rescue were unfortunately too late. So my half-elf was raised by the paladins.

Yeah, Elistraee getting killed, replaced, or corrupted would suck royally, IMO. Perhaps I'm just a sentimental fool who's read the BoED a few too many times, but the idea of a drow goddess whose whole reason for existing is the redemption of an entire race has always been appealing to me.

When there is no clear patron for 'hybrids', I always followed a general rule - the 'hybrids' take on one side of their ancestries, according where their hearts lay. In this case, the local human pantheon or the seldarine/dark seldarine...

Of course, they wouldn't go generaly for gods straight up on racial purity.

It's inspired by our own world, the biracial or biethnical childrem - born of two groups, they tend to have to make a choice, even if they are allowed to keep a link to the other one...
