| HamHam09-05-07, 11:02 PM | Does anyone know where I might find stats for an Aspect of Lolth? And if not, does anyone have some good ideas on what sort of abilities such a being would have? Edit: I'm putting up a blanck stat block that I hope to slowly fill in as the idea is developed: Lolth CR ? CE ?Huge? outsider (chaotic, extraplanar, evil, ?tanar’ri?) | HamHam09-06-07, 10:47 PM | Okay, so I guess I'll just make one from scratch then? AC 40ish 25HD Web as an at will SLA? Poison of some sort? How's that for a start? Edit: Tanari'ri traits: Immunity to electricity and poison Resistance to acid 10, cold 10, and fire 10 Telepathy 300 ft Summon Tanar'ri and/or spiders? |
| Shemeska the Marauder09-06-07, 11:20 PM | Tanari'ri traits: Just me, but I wouldn't actually give Lolth tanar'ri traits, because despite the dramatics of Corellon using the phrase when he stripped her of her original godhood and tossed her into the Abyss, she isn't really a tanar'ri by origin since she began as a god in the first place. |
| Shemeska the Marauder09-06-07, 11:21 PM | Also, FWIW, IIRC some proxies/aspects of Lolth appear in the 3.5 Expedition to the Demonweb Pits. |

On the one hand, you have a good point. On the other hand, "truth is in the naming" is an important theme in magic, imho, so I could see her gaining such traits as a result of that. Also, they essentially consist of immunities and resistances. If not the standard tanar'ri set, what resistances and immunities do you think Lolth should have? Also, FWIW, IIRC some proxies/aspects of Lolth appear in the 3.5 Expedition to the Demonweb Pits. Really? I skimmed through it at the book store recently looking for just that but didn't see any. |
| Borris09-07-07, 01:46 AM | I believe in the Miniature Handbook. But it's 3.0 and out of print. Good luck The Miniatures Handbook may be out of print, but the stats for the Aspect of Lolth miniature are available freely in the D&D Miniatures Warband Generator (which can be downloaded on this site). Here they are, slightly updated for 3.5 Aspect of Lolth: CE Large Outsider (Chaotic, Evil, Extraplanar) HD: 14 (105 hp) Init: +4 AC: 21 (touch 13, flat-footed 17) Speed: 40 ft., Climb 20 ft. Attack: +1 anarchic ghost touch unholy whip +18/+13/+8 (1d6+6/19-20, chaotic, evil, magic, +2 to attack and +2d6+2 against good and lawful creatures) Space/Reach: 10 ft./10 ft. (20 ft. with whip) Special Abilities: Darkvision 60 ft., DR 5/epic, Spell Resistance 25 Saves: Fort +12, Ref +13, Will +17 Abilities: Str 16, Dex 18, Con 17, Int 27, Qis 26, Cha 23 Skills and Feats: Balance +21, Bluff +23, Climb +28, Diplomacy +10, Disguise +23, Escape Artist +21, Intimidate +25, Jump +24, Listen +25, Search +25, Sense Motive +25, Spot +25; Blind-Fight CR: 11 A lot of things are missing, but that's because stats on miniatures cards try to print as little as possible. If a feat or special ability has a static bonus (such as Weapon Focus, Improved Initiative, or Iron Will), it will simply be added to the appropriate modifier. Only feats that you can choose to use (such as Power Attack) or that only activate in specific situations (like Blind-Fight) are listed. Note that the Aspect of Lolth that can be found in the Miniatures Handbook i squite different, fighting with no weapon, and with a greater emphasis on Lolth's poisonous nature. It's still fine though. Deities often have many different aspects which represent different parts of their portfolios or personalities. |
| Ornum09-07-07, 08:44 AM | Sorry to sidetrack the thread here, but a question. Since when is the Mini Handbook 3.0? I have it, and I did buy it late in the game (and I honestly haven't read through it or even used much, if anything out of it) and on the back cover the text reads that it is compatible with the 3.5 ruleset. |
| Orchomenos09-07-07, 09:58 AM | Download the Warband Generator (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/mi/20031113x), and check the card for the Aspect of Lolth. |
| HamHam09-07-07, 04:24 PM | The one from the Warband Generator is a little... pathetic. I want something on the scale of the Demon Lords in FCI. (Thanks for the info though.) |
| Borris09-07-07, 09:25 PM | All the aspects from the Miniatures Handbook have CRs in the 9-12 range. And actually, the same goes for all the Archdemon aspects from the Fiendish Codex I web enhancement. Zuggtmoy is even as low as a CR 6. The Fiendish Codex II uses what used to be stats for the archdevils themselves and ends up giving us CR 20-27 monsters. In my opinion, that's too strong for mere aspects, yet too weak for archfiends, so I use these stats for avatars. If you want an avatar-level Lolth, though, you're out of luck. None has been published so far. But I'm sure someone on the boards has written something already. |
