It is also the name of an Italian soccer team. I have a friend that wants to make a tatoo of that deity, and I suggested him to use a D&D picture. I looked for for Atalanta's picture into the gallery of "deities and demigods", but she's not there. He thinks that the pictures of deities of the manual are beautiful and if there was a picture of Atalanta made by the same author (but only in black and white, he doesn't want a coloured tatoo), he would choose it. Is there a manual or a web enhancement or something else in which I can find a picture of Atalanta in D&D style? |

Nothing major -- just that she didn't wanna marry anyone so she used her physical prowess and said she'd only marry someone who could beat her in a race. A guy prayed to aphrodite (Goddess of Love) and she helped him win the race, and thus, Atlanta's hand in marriage. Thus, Atlanta is not a deity in any shape or form. |

I need a fantasy picture of her Well, see, there aren't any official Mythological Greece campaign settings in D&D, so it's extremely unlikely that you'll be able to find a D&D style picture of Atalanta without getting somebody to draw one for you. Really, all you need to show that it's Atalanta is to have a girl wearing a huntress' garb (short tunic tied over one shoulder, high boots, hair loose, bow and quiver) and running, possibly with some golden apples. Also, the picture of Artemis (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/dd_gallery/dd2/Artemis_p109.jpg) is pretty good. |

| Orchomenos04-02-07, 03:48 PM | Here's a celebre painting by Guido Reni about Hippomenes and Atalanta (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atalanta). There's a bit of nudity, but it's mostly art. http://www.wga.hu/art/r/reni/1/atalanta.jpg Since she was renowned for her speed, she should have been relatively thinner than on this painting... |
