| AlanBruce07-09-07, 04:53 PM | Greetings. I'm organizing a battle royale type encounter for my players. The arena is ready, with tunnels, pillars, high walls, secret undergorund rooms, the works. In the past, I have had these battle royales, pitting PC vs. PC. Some players don't like them, as they tend to demoralize their characters in front of their peers. So I chose alignment exemplars to battle each other instead. I gathered a list of creatures with CR 12 - 14, hoepfully balanced enough, but due to my poor monster resources, I may not have the best of the best for this fight. This is what I have gathered so far. All these creatures are from the MM, unless noted in their listing: LG: Trumpet Archon NG: Leonal Guardinal CG: Ghaele Eladrin LN: Justicar (MMIII) N: Cuprilach Rilmani (Fiend Folio) CN: Grey Slaad with 4 levels of sorcerer. The Death Slaad is CE, not a true exemplar. LE: Gelugon Baatezu NE: Ultroloth (MMIII) CE: Nalfeshnee Tanar'ri Notes: I tried finding Modron stats, but was unlucky in my search. Then I thought about a Kolyarut Inevitable (which I like the idea). The whole Justicar concept is nice, but he's not even from the LN plane of Mechanus, so it may be changed. These are the books I have at my disposal now for monstyer selection: MM MMII MMIII MMIV Fiend Folio FC II The idea is for my layers to choose one alignment and get the character sheet with that monster's info. Then they duke it out in the arena while their PCs are carefull stashed away, waiting for the real campaign to come. This is a "what if" scenario and has no relevance on the adventure as a whole, but my players have wanted to play powerful monsters, so here it is. Any ideas and suggestions are more than welcome. Thank you in advance. |
