| Peregrine_Wolf07-17-07, 03:17 PM | DISCLAIMER: Please, do not flame this thread or post any uncalled for remarks. Be polite and refrain from posting anything that might start a massive arguement(such as *most* fighter or katana threads) Hey all, for a campaign I'm planning on starting with some friends at school, I was working on the city that most of it will take place in and decided that it would be cool to add in a new god. I figured that Chuck Norris would be a fun god to have, and since I'm messing up the names of everything in this game, he is now called Nuck Chorris. More to the point, I was wondering what domains he should have and what domain powers you could get by worshipping him. Also, I was thinking of making a new domain for him(and likely a few other gods people might wish to create) called the Baddass Domain or something like that. So far I think his domains might end up as War, Destruction, Protection and Baddass. Anyone have any feedback or ideas? If you'd like to know more about the setting etc. I really only have the bare bones of it down, but would be more than willing to share. I'll probably post it on the "Whats a DM to do?" forum. Thanks =) |
| Lenore07-17-07, 03:21 PM | Wait, wait.....are you trying to tell me that Chuck Norris isn't already a god? |
| Peregrine_Wolf07-17-07, 03:26 PM | I'm not saying that, I'm just saying that he should be statted. |
| DX205207-17-07, 03:33 PM | Domains should be Law, Death, Destruction, Glory (OGL content in SRD) and strength. Holy symbol should be a 5 pointed star sheriffs badge. and I think he should be called something more creative, but thats just be |
| Millennium07-17-07, 03:38 PM | STR: Ludicrous DEX: Ridiculous CON: More than you INT: Astronomical WIS: (sound of hysterical laughter) CHA: Really, Really High Divine Rank: over NINE THOUSAND!!!! |
| Lenore07-17-07, 03:40 PM | infinite to everything |
| Taeldrin Laesrash07-17-07, 03:43 PM | He's got the Good, Evil, Law, and Chaos domains, to start. You'll need an Awesome domain also. Clearly, as far as SDAs go, he's got Divine Splendor. Also a super version of Life or Death. |
| Skritz_the_Lizardmen07-17-07, 03:56 PM | Chuck Norris Greater Deity Symbol: 5-Point Sheriff Star Home Plane: Material Plane (That mean you are DEAD if you don't beleive in him) Portfolio: Roundhouse Kick, Pure-Awesomeness, Karate, Chunk-Kuk-Do, Strenght Worshippers: Everybody Cleric Alignement: LG, LN Domains: Good Law Strenght War Good Law Strenght Death Roundhouse Kick |
| Peregrine_Wolf07-17-07, 04:31 PM | I was going to ask why he has the Strength domain twice...but.... Also, what would you get from having the Roundhouse Kick domain? I'm leaning towards the Baddass domain so that other baddasses out there like the Rock and Vin Diesel and Jack Sparrow can become dieties. |
| peteyrock07-17-07, 04:38 PM | The badasses I looked up to were Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Dolph Lundgren. So, I'm an 80's child, sue me. Seriously, though, I can't bare the thought of a slightly younger generation thinking that Jack Sparrow is more badass than these guys. At least throw in one of them? |

I should know, I've seen his movies. Roundhouse Kick Domain Power: You can perform a roundhouse kick that, once per day, is truly god-like (but still pitiful compared to Chuck's). It's a melee attack doing 1d6 per level that ALWAYS hits. Spells: All require a somatic component (a roundhouse kick). The notion is that you've become close enough to The Chuck, that you can also shatter the laws of time, space and logic with but a single roundhouse kick. | Symar07-17-07, 05:02 PM | Ah, but if you add him as a god in your campaign, wouldn't he quickly become the only god? |
| Peregrine_Wolf07-17-07, 05:12 PM | Ah, but if you add him as a god in your campaign, wouldn't he quickly become the only god? But Chuck Norris is lawful good/neutral.....why would he kill off all the gods? Anyways, having one god kill off teh other woulc kinda ruin the game.....no more Champions of Corellon Larethian....... |
| Calmar07-17-07, 05:41 PM | The holy symbol is great! :D :D |
| 42007-17-07, 09:00 PM | The badasses I looked up to were Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Dolph Lundgren. Pfft, Alan Ladd (Shane), Humphrey Bogart, and Clint Eastwood. Also, Yul Brynner, and Charles Bronson (Magnificent Seven). Maybe these guys could be an older pantheon, predecessors and advisers to the current badasses. -420 |
| Peregrine_Wolf07-17-07, 09:12 PM | As soon as I figure out how....I'm probably going to have to change the thread title.....the pantheon of Baddasses, predecessors to the modern gods. What has the world come to? Actually....more like existance......wow....that's big..... |
| Truenamer07-17-07, 09:13 PM | But Chuck Norris is lawful good/neutral.....why would he kill off all the gods? Anyways, having one god kill off teh other woulc kinda ruin the game.....no more Champions of Corellon Larethian....... Nooooo, that would make the game awesome. |
| Sim_antix07-17-07, 09:55 PM | Why does everyone think that Chuck Norris is so great? Seriously does he deserve to be idolized to the point of being made into a God in peoples D&D games? |
| Taeldrin Laesrash07-17-07, 10:18 PM | Why does everyone think that Chuck Norris is so great? Seriously does he deserve to be idolized to the point of being made into a God in peoples D&D games? Probably not, but it's great fun anyway. |
| Talisman07-17-07, 11:17 PM | Why does everyone think that Chuck Norris is so great? Seriously does he deserve to be idolized to the point of being made into a God in peoples D&D games? It's the aura of "I'm Awesome" that he projects. It's not so much that people truly idolize him or think he's great, as he obviously thinks he's great. Awesomeness Domain Granted Power: Your sheer awesomeness grants you a sacred bonus on Bluff, Diplomacy and Intimidate checks equal to 1/2 your cleric level. Spells 1: Shield 2: Eagle's splendor 3: Chuck Norissism (aka heroism) 4: Crushing despair 5: Sending 6: Globe of invulnerability 7: Spell turning 8: Protection from spells 9: Time stop Badass Domain Granted Power: You gain Improved Unarmed Strike and Stunning Fist as bonus feats, even if you do not meet the prerequisites. Spells 1: True strike 2: Shatter 3: Haste 4: Divine power 5: Righteous might 6: Greater Chuck Norrisism (aka greater heroism) 7: Chuck Norris's Inescapable Hammerlock (aka Bigby's grasping hand) 8: Chuck Norris's Ultimate Kick (aka Bigby's clenched fist) 9: Whatever Chuck Wants (aka miracle). |
| Lobsopdoy07-18-07, 10:47 AM | Vin Diesel should be his rival. Not that Vin Diesel would be evil, just his rival. |
| Peregrine_Wolf07-18-07, 04:06 PM | That.....is.....awesome......those domains should so be in the core books, or maybe in DMG under something like design your own dieties. Although it would probably have to be slightly modified to what the diety is. I don't think Vin Diesel would do what Chuck Norris does. |

While it might be funny, saying things like this should be in core is just ridiculous. |
| Yaeri07-19-07, 09:33 AM | While it might be funny, saying things like this should be in core is just ridiculous. Someone is jealous of the Chuck. :P :P :P  ;) |
| Steely_Dan07-19-07, 09:50 AM | Apparently Bigfoot is a piece of Chuck Norris' beard that has escaped. |
| HuManBing07-19-07, 09:56 AM | Isn't there some sort of rule that shapechangers and aberrations (which are sort of a "middle step" of evolution) should get a massive penalty when near a Chuck Norris priest? There is no Theory of Evolution - just a list of animals that Chuck Norris has allowed to live. :D |
| Sim_antix07-19-07, 10:02 AM | Someone is jealous of the Chuck. :P :P :P  ;) :D More like dumbfounded at the stupidity of americans. This all started as a damn joke and has rapidly gotten out of hand to the point of people exaggerating his actual martial arts prowess. Chuck Norris could not act his way out of a wet paper bag. He is a talented martial artist who has had the good fortune to work with greats such as Bruce Lee. But he is NOT worthy of the kind of praise and admiration that some people seem to think. And yes I realize that some people are being sarcastic about it, but not everyone is and it is getting harder and harder to tell because todays youth are increasingly unintelligent it seems. |
| RealSorceror07-19-07, 10:49 AM | What would his Favored Weapon be? And more importantly, do I really want to know? |
| Cato_the_Elder07-19-07, 01:39 PM | Pfh, who cares about Chuck Norris. Bruce Campbell is better than he'll ever be. You might as well stop the thread now. |
| Sylvaroth07-19-07, 02:15 PM | What would his Favored Weapon be? And more importantly, do I really want to know? Sword-chucks, yo! (http://www.nuklearpower.com/daily.php?date=010815) :D (I just wonder where iremembercecil is) |
| 42007-19-07, 02:57 PM | Bruce Lee would be like an overpower, like Ao, he exists on a higher level than mere deities and barely notices their existence. -420 |
| Peregrine_Wolf07-19-07, 05:31 PM | Chuck Norris is good at martial arts, but he's isn't actually a god in real life. It's just fun to mess around like this because it entertains the mind and stimulates thought, which is healthy, especially in this day and age.......*cough* Myspace *cough* |

It's just fun to mess around like this because it entertains the mind and stimulates thought, which is healthy, especially in this day and age.......*cough* Myspace *cough* Believe me, I am fine with a little humor, I just feel that the Chuck Norris phenomenon has gone on long enough and it is getting way too far out of hand. I also take things more seriously once poeple say things like "this should be in core" because no, no it shouldn't. |
| Peregrine_Wolf07-19-07, 05:45 PM | I was being a little bit sarcastic about the part about being in the core books. Although it would be nice if they included something about making your own gods in the DMG. |
| Yaeri07-19-07, 06:08 PM | I also take things more seriously once poeple say things like "this should be in core" because no, no it shouldn't. I wholeheartedly agree, Chuck should get his own accessory: Complete awesome, the only accessory you'll ever need! Well, once everyone stops laughing people'll move on to another gimmick. Although.... the 4th edition threads won't die and yet no one's laughing. |
| Sim_antix07-19-07, 06:48 PM | I was being a little bit sarcastic about the part about being in the core books. Although it would be nice if they included something about making your own gods in the DMG. Well Deities and Demigods has a section on making deities... |
| Optimator07-19-07, 06:56 PM | Believe me, I am fine with a little humor, I just feel that the Chuck Norris phenomenon has gone on long enough and it is getting way too far out of hand. It shows. :P Anyway, John McClane should be in the pantheon. |
| bloodtalon07-19-07, 07:54 PM | i am from the 80's too you forgot the only person to kill chuck in a movie BRUCE LEE if chuck is a god then burce must be a over god |
| Radiun07-19-07, 08:08 PM | A Cleric of Chuck Prays for his Daily Spells ... And Roundhouse Kicks a party member in the face to show his devotion, completing his preparation. Although Chuck is a Good God, his Clerics spontaneously cast inflict spells. A Cleric of Chuck casts Miracle "What do you want my prey?" "Please your Chuck-ness, slay this Draconic infidel!" "It is not your place to tell me what to do!" *Chuck roundhouse kicks the cleric in the face, sending him flying THROUGH the dragon...* The moral is, don't ask Chuck for anything. |
| Johnny_Angel07-19-07, 08:19 PM | i am from the 80's too you forgot the only person to kill chuck in a movie BRUCE LEE if chuck is a god then burce must be a over god Actually, according to the "Chuck Norris facts" that was the most expensive special effects scene in a movie ever. It took nearly 6 weeks to edit the scene in a way which would show Chuck Norris losing the fight. On a more serious note: I'd say that his favored weapon would be the unarmed strike; as such, Clerics of Chuck Norris would be granted the improved unarmed strike feat; if the cleric already has improved unarmed strike, they are instead granted the feat "round-about kick" (even if they would normally not qualify for it); if the Cleric already has both of those feats (or if your game does not include the "round-about kick" feat,) they instead choose a bonus feat from the list of Fighter Bonus feats. The holy symbols of Chuck Norris would vary depending on which aspect of him that they worship. Those who worship the Texas Ranger aspect usually carry a silver star; they also typically choose the domains of Law and Good. Those who worship the martial prowess and strength of Chuck Norris carry a small wooden carving of his face with an ominous golden fist protruding from his beard; they typically choose the domains of Strength and Destruction. Complete List of Domains Law Good Strength Destruction Death Favored Souls of Chuck Norris may multi-class freely between monk and favored soul. Instead of growing wings, favored souls of Chuck Norris grow a magical beard which allows them to fly. |
| Orodruin07-19-07, 08:25 PM | i am from the 80's too you forgot the only person to kill chuck in a movie BRUCE LEE if chuck is a god then burce must be a over god Nah. Everybody knows that Chuck Norris created the multiverse when he roundhouse-kicked reality;causing it to splinter into the various planes. Life itself sprang full blown from beneath his beard. If that isn't the definition of Overdeity, I don't know what is... |
| 0datdude007-19-07, 08:33 PM | Chuck Norris is not a god gods pry to Chuck Norris |
| Alpha_Moose07-19-07, 08:54 PM | If you look at my sig, you'll see a hilarious version of the history of the world by Vestigial_Thumb. It will probably be very good for what your going for. The link is in the archive, so here's the reprinted version: Vestigial_Thumb 11-04-06, 03:45 PM Only so long as they aren't fighting pirate ninja ghosts...because pirate ninja ghosts are the total win! You mean Pirate Ninja Zombies, right? Let me take you deep into the bowels of history. At the dawn of time, Ninjas and Pirates fought an endless war. It raged on for centuries, until a champion rose in the West; Chuck Norris. Ninjas and Pirates merged into one faction under the rules of Chuck Norris and his mecha-dinosaurs. Millenia later, a threat gathered; Gangsta rappers. In their lowriders they made driveby-shootings on the armies of the Ninja Pirates, decimating them entirely. Chuck Norris raised them again, but this time a Zombies! Then he enslaved the Gangsta rappers, and they remained enslaved until the 23rd amendment was passed, at which time Chuck Norris decided that their punishment for killing his armies was over, and admitted that it had been overly cruel. So he apologized to them and offered them to serve in his army. The Gangsta rappers were grateful and joined Chuck Norris. With their lowriders and Mac-10s, they were an incredibly powerful addition to the army. Again rose a great threat: Michael Jackson. With his sinisterly good dance moves, mesmerizing music, and army of renegade zombies, he danced Chuck Norris' army into the past. As Chuck Norris worked his way through history the second time, new champions emerged from his ranks. They were Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, Steven Seagal, Kurt Russel, Samuel L. Jackson, Vin Diesel, The Rock, Clint Eastwood, Sonny Chiba, John Wayne, Dolph Lundgren, Wesley Snipes, Ice Cube, Bruce Lee (though this champion was special in that he alone could defeat Chuck Norris), Harrison Ford, Mr. T, Vinnie Jones, Jack Bauer, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Superman, and Bruce Willis. Over a span of three thousand years they prepared for a battle with Michael Jackson. Only thirty years ago did Michael Jackson find out about the champions and their training. At this point he hired people to follow them and videotape their training under the illusion that they were movies. In the early years of the 3rd millenium, the champions broke into Michael Jackson's house disguised as police officers. Michael, as soon as he saw the overwhelming force he was against, immediately surrendered. Only two years later, he escaped from their custody (which they had disguised as a trial), and fled the country. He is still at large. If you ask any historian about the validity of this, he will tell you it's bullcrap. Don't listen to them. http://img72.imageshack.us/img72/6966/lawofrockpaperscissorshv7.png |
| Lobsopdoy07-19-07, 11:48 PM | If John McClane gets in there, then Roland Deschain needs to be added to the awesomeness pantheon. He's the patron diety of shootin' **** in the face...and saving the universe too |
