| RodinGates08-18-07, 09:31 PM | I'm currently working on a campaign that will utilize Tharzidun from Lords of Madness as the force behind the heroes' antagonist. As a means of his transgression into the Material Plane he has supplanted the main deity of the campaign setting's largest continent and established a cult in it's place. I have thought about the workings of this church and have been wondering about one aspect that will be important to this campaign: clerics. What do you all think of Tharzidun having clerics? Would it be possible for him to do so? The sourcebooks I have don't seem to say much about the Elder Evils and whether or not they can really be considered gods much less bestow divine spells onto their worshipers. In general what do you all think of the idea? What kind of domains would such clerics have? |

If you can find a copy of the early 3.0 mega adventure "Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil" that's all about the cult of Tharizidun. Of course, he's treated as a god there, and if you seperate Elder Evils from gods that could be an issue- but I doubt it. 3ed D&D allows for belief to grant you power regardless of the divine status of your patron, anyway. And I'm pretty sure that Complete Divine updated the Mad God too, but I could be wrong about that. |

He's in Complete Divine, Lords of Madness, Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil, and the Living Greyhawk Gazetteer, among other places. Yes, he has clerics. |

Zimriel's Tharizdun page (http://pages.sbcglobal.net/zimriel/NightBelow/tharizdun.html) is useful for background and criticism. Monsters associated with Tharizdun include the rogue eidelon MM2) |
