| Bloodsoul08-16-07, 11:25 AM | Alright, I'm still a little confuzzled about this. Now the array, from my understanding, is 35, 29, 25, 24, 24, 24, right? Does that go in order from Strength to Charisma, or can they be swapped around? And are these base stats for a deity or are they treated like racial stats such as in the Monster Manual; subtracting 10 from even, 11 from odd, and adding those to rolls? I've a mortal character who ascended to deityhood but for now am using her original stats, which made sense to me at the time since she was still use to the whole god-business (as opposed to the others who had been around for ages). However, I would like to remove her need for magical enhancements and am looking for someway to incorporate the Deity array into her abilities while retaining a similar feel to them (because giving her sudden surge to her Strength as a Sorcerer just seems silly). Any tips? ^_^ |

You add your racial and character level stat modifiers to the array. You also get a bonus to any one of your stats for each divine rank you possess- though I doubt you'll have any if you just ascended to divine status. My original character ascended years ago, he is divine rank 20 now. I've played him for about five years. It was a blast to watch my little dwarven fighter become the god of dwarves, glory, wealth, fire, and earth. Deital characters are fun to play- welcome to the club :) |
| Bloodsoul08-17-07, 12:53 AM | Ah.. hmm, so just to make sure I got this right (because for some reason I was great with algebra but bad with basic math), it goes a little something like this. Now, here's her original, level 1 human stats: STR: 12 +1 DEX: 17 +3 CON: 18 +4 INT: 13 +1 WIS: 14 +2 CHA: 18 +4 And here are her stats at level 40 with +5 inherit bonus all around: STR: 17 +3 DEX: 22 +6 CON: 23 +6 INT: 18 +4 WIS: 19 +4 CHA: 33 +11 So, do I set up her stats like this with, say, an extra 10 for being a lesser deity (shifty eyes), and her stat modifiers? Version One STR: 24 +3 = 27 DEX: 25 +6 = 31 CON: 24 +6 = 30 INT: 28 +4 = 32 WIS: 24 +4 = 28 CHA: 35 +11 +10 = 56 Or with her actual stats? Version Two STR: 24 +17 = 41 DEX: 25 +22 = 47 CON: 24 +23 = 47 INT: 28 +18 = 46 WIS: 24 +19 = 43 CHA: 35 +33 +10 = 78 I'll admit, version two does seem a tad too high... sorry, but I'm still confuzzled! *brain 'splodes* |
| nick01200008-18-07, 04:42 AM | With a Charisma that high, it doesn't matter, since she'll have Alter Reality (a.k.a. the Win Button) anyway. |
| Kyuketsukiouji08-18-07, 05:51 PM | Actually, the divine array is 40,28, 25, 24, 24, 24, with one point per ever 4 levels/outsider hit dice (as normal), and 1 point per divine rank. I invite you to look at the stats for Erbin, from the web enhancement for Deities and Demigods, where you can chart his progess at DR 0/Level 1 (base array), DR 1/Level 2 (base array +1), DR 6/Level 10 (base array +8), DR 11/Level 20 (base array +16) and DR 16/Level 40 (base array +26). You'll see it all matches perfectly. |
| Bloodsoul08-18-07, 09:26 PM | Wow... *blink blink* Because that makes about the fourth source I've seen so far (another claiming 37, 28, 25, 24, 24, 24)? Well, thank you very much. I think I finally decided on Quin's abilities for her Lv 40 and Lv 75 "Power Clause" versions, respectively (with inherit bonuses): Lv 40 Lv 75 BASE TOTAL | BASE TOTAL STR: 24 29 | STR: 30 35 DEX: 29 40 | DEX: 39 48 CON: 25 30 | CON: 30 38 INT: 24 30 | INT: 30 36 WIS: 24 32 | WIS: 35 40 CHA: 35 50 | CHA: 45 70 (It no longer matters to me which array is official or not; I spent all day trying to figure this out and now I have a migraine and I just want to snuggle with Hello Kitty and fall asleep...) |
| Starmage2108-19-07, 10:41 PM | The divine array is used when generating a new god from scratch. Just like you would use the Elite array for an NPC, you use the Divine array for a new god |
| Kyuketsukiouji08-20-07, 05:34 PM | You don't add differences between your original stats and the divine array when you ascend. You just replace your base stats, add your level increases and possibly your inherent bonuses and you're done. Just look at Imhotep, who was a 20th level Expert when he ascended. No way he got a 40 score legitimately otherwise. |
| Bloodsoul08-21-07, 04:30 PM | Yeah, took me awhile to figure out where I went wrong in understanding, but that's what I ended up doing. |
