| Gwenfloor02-22-07, 07:29 PM | Kas, the Demigod of Spite from Heroes of Horror, sounded like an interesting deity. Since I do not have the book, I wish to ask some of fellow D&D players their opinions and impressions of the God. |
| Alpha_Moose02-22-07, 07:44 PM | I wish his picture was an avatar so I could use it. But really, he looks interesting. I don't have the book, but reading through it he seemed like he had a great history. |
| Return of the Flumph02-22-07, 09:45 PM | Is it the same Kas who made the Sword of Kas artifact? Ex-lieutenant to Vecna? |
| Gwenfloor02-22-07, 09:52 PM | No. Different Kas. The one that I am talking about is the one who has antler horns and was a mortal who was wronged by nobles, and Kas felt that the nobles owed him. His hatred was so great that after he killed them all out of spite, he ascended to godhood, or something like that. |
| happydude02-23-07, 12:04 AM | I'm currently using Cas in a campaign I'm running and it has done alot for the flavor and feel of the campaign in general. Not knowing much, if anything, about Cas both in-game and in reality, my players are having alot of fun in the campaign trying to learn about and investigate the secret cults that worship him. As well, being the god of spite and vengeance lends a great deal towards creating interesting opponents, quests and storylines for the players to encounter. I can't wait to see their faces when they encounter his avatar, a 12-foot tall man-moose, blood red and wielding a massive mace :) |

What is he, a ranger or something? And what could his mace do (stat wise)? I remember that it couldn't be disarmed or something. |
| happydude02-23-07, 02:41 PM | The Ebon Rod of Ill Will, a large +3 vicious heavy mace :D Cannot be disarmed, immeditaely acts as a bane weapon towards anybody who has caused even a single point of damage to the avatar, and anyone who picks it up besides the avatar immediately becomes the subject of a phantasmal killer spell. Not to mention his body generates such tremendous heat that whenever he hits you in melee you take 2d6 fire damage. Nasty to say the least. The characters should be crying for mommy when they get a taste of his full attack of +51/+46/+41/+36/+31/+26/+21 each causing 2d6 +21 plus 2d6 fire damage and 2d6 vicious damage plus whatever damange from bane :P |

Even so, I look forward to someday mounting his antlers over my fireplace and looking at them while enjoying some tasty moose-god sausage :D . |
| TheHarrow03-05-07, 08:16 PM | Oh man it is nice to see a pro-Cas thread. When HoH first came out he was a bit condemned for being, well, moose headed. I liked the plot line with his cleric, Samuel, and the Bane Wraith. Good way to tie in a monster, IMO |
| RavenGraygem03-06-07, 12:54 PM | Hey, I like 'im so much, I've already added him to my homebrew world and given him an additional domain. And he can probably expect a slight bump in power as well. He was pretty much the major reason I bought HoH :) . |
