| ArcTan09-29-07, 10:42 PM | Technically speaking, Deities & Demigods. However, the mechanics in Deities & Demigods are pretty wacked-out, as is its interpretation of what the gods are and how they would work. You could probably do better coming up with something on your own (based on how "human" or "godlike" you want the gods to be -- do you want to be dueling Ares and slaying Typhon, a la the video game God of War, or do you want the gods to be shadowy, supernatural, truly *divine*-feeling presences in your game, the way an actual worshipper of the gods would've seen them in real life?) |
| captianhowdy09-29-07, 10:50 PM | God of War-ish is kinda what im going for epic, but not "godly" epic (ironic way to put it) I might just homebrew them, like you mentioned |
| DyloniusFunk09-30-07, 09:03 PM | Two things to keep in mind about Deities And Demigods. It is 3.0 It was published before Epic Level Handbook thus no Epic Feats or the like are given to the deities as printer If you keep that in mind i think it's worth a read through or even buying if you can get it cheap. There is a lot of good fluff in there to use if you aren't interested enough in Greek mythology to dig through other sources or just don't have the time to. There's stuff like ideology in game, worshipers, temples and rituals, and other fluff like that that is independent from mechanics. |
| xXOblivionXx10-01-07, 12:07 PM | there's always wikipedia. |
| Ornum10-01-07, 01:07 PM | Well, there's also The Greek Gods, a pdf by Bastion Press. Then there's Lore of the Gods by Dragonwing Games, which was originally meant as an actual book version of three pdf's from Bastion (Greek Gods, as well as Norse Gods and Egyptian Gods), but is now a bit more detailed than a simple compilation (it also includes Mesopotamian gods, btw). I think this book was supposed to have come out around mid-September. |
