| Starmage2103-29-07, 08:28 AM | You don't. It's in Manual of the Planes. More specifically: When your character dies, his soul lingers around his body for a round or two(DM discression), before passing into the astral plane. There, all your memories are left and your soul continues to the outer planes where it goes to either a plane matching your alignment, or your diety's realm. Casting a speak with dead spell merely contacts those memories left in the astral plane, and so even after resurrection(which reunites all those parts that were separated before), you wont remember answering to such a spell, or the afterlife(your memories/consciousness was left on the astral). |
| Millennium03-29-07, 01:44 PM | No, you don't. The target of a speak with dead spell can't even remember being questioned. |
| eridalafar03-29-07, 04:04 PM | No, but it can be a role play that sometime a ressed NPC or PC have a lot of not being totaly present and part of him alway in the havens. Also saying sometime that have been ressed have some flashback that he can't remember when the situation is calm. He is alway him-self, but a little more spooky. Normaly it will have some change in the personality of a ressed one, as most of people will be have happy in their haven respective. So it must have a good raison to return to live. Some reaction possible: - morning his lost place in haven even if having no exact memory - fanatism - no longuer fear dead - Now I am a man of 1 mission and this missioon is.... - my social live is done - mo mystique - but I have returned to protect you not to love you. - if some time have passed between dead and the ress: how me society have begun to accept that? If well played comming back of the dead will be a major moment in the live of the PC. Eridalafar |

| sicsemperjohn03-30-07, 03:56 AM | I really like the concept of a Raise Dead cast messing up, leaving some of the individual's memories/soul in the Astral Plane. Then, that character casts Speak with Dead and talks with his or her own deceased aspect. |
| garou8503-30-07, 01:46 PM | Complete Divine states you don't remember specific things but you do remeber how you felt while you were there. |
| Starmage2103-30-07, 05:36 PM | Complete Divine states you don't remember specific things but you do remeber how you felt while you were there. emotion is part of your soul at least as far as D&D is concerned. The stuff that gets left in the astral is just thoughts and memories. |
