I want a set of Asian themed islands in my campaign world to, rather than worshiping normal deities, has a pantheon of metalic dragons as patrons.

I already have an idea for a Copper Dragon Trickster-god, and a Black and a Red as the two main Evil powers. Any ideas?

One cool thing is that most of these will still be alive, but Ancient, and thus likely to be hanging around disguised as humans working to spread their own interests.

Is that more about gods dragons might worship rather than dragons humans might worship?

Dragons are the main worshipers, but it says that humans also do, even a few divine PrCs for those who do, like the Dracolyte

Well, regardless:

1) I don't have Draconomicon (yet)

2) I doubt it's really what I'm looking for anyone since they would be actual gods rather than mortal but powerful dragons.

Moving on:

In the age that came before, dragon and man lived together in peace, each helping the other and living together in harmony. And they flourished. It is said that each of the towers in the City of a Thousand Spires was home to a dragon, who watched over the citizens that lived or worked there. During the day, many could be seen weaving amongst the peaks, their brilliant metallic scales shinning in the bright sun-light.

Then came the time of Darkness, when all the world was set aflame by War. The Dragons rose to the defense of the world, and for a time their power stood as a bulwark against the great enemy. But even dragons are not perfect. Some were made weak by fear, while others were overcome by greed, corrupted by the enemy's promises of wealth and power.

And so they betrayed their fellows, and the mortals whom they had sworn to protect. The greatest betrayal was that of the mightiest of the betrayers, Skarg, who slew his brother the King of Dragons, Arikami. With his dying breath, Arikami cursed the betrayers. Their scales lost their heavinly shine and became grab. Skarg's golden scales became black as the night. Since that time, they and their descendants have furthermore been cursed with unsatiable greed.

The Battle of Burning Sky followed soon after, when dragon met dragon in combat, and many other forces strove against each other. The clash of their steel and the blows of their sorcery were so great that the world itself shook, and the ground was rended, and the seas boiled. The land that came before was broken and disappeared beneath the waves.

When the dawn came, the world had been destroyed, and reborn. Only six dragons survived, but the enemy had departed and the betreyers had either been slain or routed. The Six helped the survivors rebuild and survive in the harsh times that followed the time of Darkness. And they continue to watch over the Eight Islands to this day.

Draconimicon does include the Dragon Ascendant, a PrC specifically for mortal dragons ascending to divine power. By the end, they're considered quasi-deities. I personally really like the awesome aura: change frightful presence to terrify enemies and inspire followers, or to just leave everyone staring, gaping at its majesty. Honestly, if I were to ever play a dragon, I'd be a Dragon Ascendant.

That said, a copper trickster is definitely appropriate. A brass dragon "deity" of knowledge would also be appropriate. Check the mind's eye articles on Sardior. That'd be a good approximation of the brass deity. Sardior even grants the knowledge and trickery domains. A silver dragon should be modeled after Tamara. Silvers are the iconic protectors, and Tamara is a benevolent protector. Gold dragons are more often crusader types, concerned just as much with razing the armies of darkness as protecting the weak. A bronze dragon I could imagine being a craftsman/tradesman/social/cities deity, being particularly in touch with the day to day affairs of humans, possibly even walking among them regularly, disguised as one of them.

Good ideas Omni. Thanks.

Expanding on them:

Name: Omokami
Alignment: LG
Domains: War, Sun, Good, Law, Nobility, Fire
Favored Weapon: Maul

Omokami is the youngest of the three royal brothers, Arikami being the oldest and Skarg the middle child. He has sworn to avenge his brother's death and that of his lover, Imifu, by slaying Skarg. He despises undead, the favored minions of his hated brother. It is said that he has taken the form of many great human generals over the centuries.

Name: Imifu
Alignment: LG
Domains: Law, Good, Healing, Protection, Water, Fate
Favored Weapon: Quarterstaff

Imifu was a mighty Silver dragon, and Omokami's lover. She made it her mission to protect all of the lands of Hachiji and stood an everlasting vigil against the darkness in the east. However, many years after the Changing, but also many years ago, she was slain by Skarg in one of his endless attempts to destroy these lands. Still, it is said that her spirit does not rest, but rather continues her guardianship and occasionally even appears to mortals.

Name: Niku
Alignment: NG
Domains: Magic, Knowledge, Good, Air
Favored Weapon: Crossbow

Name: Riku
Alignment: NG
Domains: War, Strength, Good, Kowledge
Favored Weapon: Katana

Niku and Riku are twin Brass dragons. Niku is said to be the founder of the Arcane arts, and her followers include most good or neutral casters from any of the Eight Islands. She is said to appear now and then as a wizened Wu Jen to those worthy of her personal instruction.

Conversely, Riku is said to be the founder of the martial arts, and the original master of all 9 paths of the Sublime Way. In human form, is said to use this mastery of all nine arts with unmatched perfection.

Name: Ichisamu
Alignment: CG
Domains: Trickery, Chaos, Courage, Good, Travel
Favored Weapon: Rapier

Ichisamu is a Copper dragon, patron of tricksters, rogues, and scoundrels of every stripe. Generally, however, he keeps to harmless but amusing pranks, and tricking those attempting to do evil. It is said that he appears in human form most often as a wandering bard.

Name: Urufumu
Alignment: NG
Domains: Good, Earth, Travel, Planning, Animal, Plant
Favored Weapon: Light Hammer

Patron of home and hearth, tradesmen, craftmen, merchants, and all the other people who keep the world going while heros and warriors have adventurers, Urufumu is down to earth and wise in many things. He is a Bronze dragon. He is said to take on the form of statesmen and officials to champion the plight of the common man.

Nice. I really like this. I mean, I definitely want to incorporate this into a campaign. Just to confirm, Omokami is a gold dragon (it's not explicitly stated in your write up). Urufumu I could imagine also having the Community domain. Or else City or Commerce. Trade might be another good domain. Check crystalkeep for details. As for Ichisamu, this just screams evil twin. If Ichisamu represents benign pranks, there should be another that represents malicious pranks. Like the role Seradess plays in DragonMech: Why the Moon Falls (http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?p=13739460). Feel free to take a page from my book and have this "evil twin" be the actual expelled capability of Ichisamu for malicious pranks. That's just an awesome back story. And it fits with the Asian theme by tying into yin and yang.

Yeah, just like Arikami, and just like Skarg used to be before falling and becoming Black.

I was just looking at PHB and CW domains, so the lists are "complete" only in the context of those two books.

That's a cool idea. The question is what color would he be? I'm leaning toward Green.

Why metallic dragons and not Lung dragons from Oriental Adventures?

Faith of Eberron have a small bit about barbarian tribes of one place that worship dragon totems. maybe Oriental Adventures books and Secrets of Sarlona will too, for the asian side of it.

You beat me to it; but yes, the lung dragons, which are already members of the Celestial Bureaucracy, would make perfect models for crafting oriental dragon deities. T'ien lungs are analogous to gold dragons, for example.
