Why not? The origins of the Erinyes were originally angels of vengeance, sent out by the gods to punish mortals who broke laws. The furies are derived from them after interpretations have made them more bent from evil action than good, probably for their role in torturing souls in Tartarus.

Besides, it would help with 4th Edition in cleaning up the similarities between devils and demons, as the original devils are cast down angels who have crossed to the dark side?

Maybe the Erinyes have been called back for their servitude as infiltrators/spies in the Blood War? Or, most have really wanted to make amends from letting the Blood War get to them, from punishing demons as a befitting cause to their purpose of existence? Now, they have been given a chance to change by becoming proxies for certain deities?

I guess it works. It's more like the shades-of-grey 'use evil against evil' good of the Malconvoker and Gray Guard than the usual celestial good.
