| Faithkeep03-23-07, 01:44 AM | Other than Fharlanghn, is there any other deity who has both the Luck and Travel domains?:) |
| Andyr03-24-07, 03:16 PM | Shaundakul might, though I'm not certain. He's a CN Forgotten Realms deity. |
| Fabius Maximus03-24-07, 07:26 PM | Shaundakul hasn't the Luck domain. But Brandobaris has both domains. |
| Borris03-24-07, 07:58 PM | The following deities give acces to both the Travel and Luck domains Oghma, N god of bards and knowledge Tymora, CG goddess of good fortune Brandobaris, N halfling god of stealth and adventure Fharlanghn, N god of roads and travel Aasterinian, CN draconic god of learning, pleasure, and invention Procan, CN Greyhawk god the seas and navigation Aurifar, N god of the midday sun (from Sandstorm) |
| Treymordin03-25-07, 10:52 AM | Celestian doesnt? |
| Faithkeep03-25-07, 10:58 AM | I don't think Celestian has Luck.:) |
| Treymordin03-25-07, 11:11 AM | I like these two brother deities. |
| Faithkeep03-25-07, 11:56 AM | Ah yeah... :D Fharlanghn is cool. |
| Borris03-26-07, 04:35 AM | And lest I forget... Shinare, the LN goddess of wealth and commerce from DragonLance, also grants access to both the Luck and Travel domains. That's the only lawful deity on that list so far. |
| Faithkeep03-26-07, 10:16 AM | Oh... nice... I'm gonna look into that. |
| M1kh43l_P4r4d1s003-28-07, 03:03 AM | If he wanted to, Pelor could. |
| Faithkeep03-28-07, 06:22 AM | If he wanted to, Pelor could. Good god...  |
| M1kh43l_P4r4d1s003-28-07, 11:51 PM | Good god...  Exactly |
| Faithkeep03-29-07, 01:54 AM | Exactly :heehee Pelor, this servant of yours is getting funnier by the minute. :D |
| Doom_Linnorm04-05-07, 06:03 PM | I'm probably going to invoke a terrible posting storm here... but.... In what way could Pelor possibly be a cooler god then Lady Tiamat? Sure the old geezer has some things going for him, sungod is always an important spot in a pantheon.... but some sun/healer god is nowhere near as cool as a giant quintiple dragoness of rage and destruction. OOC: Remember, "like Cuthbert" she supports Devils. (I personaly can't imagine Cuthbert supporting Devils becouse the guy seems like he's into the whole "retribution, justice and crusading against evil" thing.) ((Don't get me wrong though, I also hate Cuthbert, he's such a typical Paladin deity.... though Pelor is a common one aswell.)) |
| ripvanwormer04-05-07, 07:06 PM | (I personaly can't imagine Cuthbert supporting Devils becouse the guy seems like he's into the whole "retribution, justice and crusading against evil" thing.) St. Cuthbert very much opposes devils. One of his newer orders, L'Ordre de la Croix-Rose Veritas, is entirely dedicated to hunting down baatezu and their kind. See the Wikipedia article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint_Cuthbert_%28Dungeons_%26_Dragons%2 9) (full disclosure: I wrote much of it). |
| M1kh43l_P4r4d1s004-06-07, 12:22 PM | Yeah dude, Cthbert did support the Devils. Just read the intro to The Devil book. He suports them. Also citing a source that you made isn't reputable. |
| ripvanwormer04-06-07, 12:47 PM | Yeah dude, Cthbert did support the Devils. Just read the intro to The Devil book. He suports them. No, he doesn't, Darth Dudicle; he supports the idea of retribution. That isn't the same thing at all. He very much opposes the tactics of the devils, which the gods didn't find out about until later. In the passage you cite, Asmodeus makes the case that there must be retribution for crimes committed. St. Cuthbert accepts the argument, and in a flash of insight transforms into a greater deity. He doesn't say "please tempt the righteous into acts of evil and depravity," which is what Asmodeus later on started doing. By St. Cuthbert's reasoning, Asmodeus is first on his list for needing the righteous face-pounding of justice, and if he could find a way around the Celestial Compact he would do so forthwith. Except the myth is obvious nonsense, since St. Cuthbert isn't a greater deity. Besides which, St. Cuthbert is a fairly recently ascended demigod, and wasn't around during the events described in the Fiendish Codex II myth. He's just a name applied to the events by later mythmakers. Do you really think a god who won't accept evil clerics supports devils? Really? Also citing a source that you made isn't reputable. I'm citing Guide to Hell, which I didn't make. I just referenced the wikipedia article so I didn't have to type the whole thing out twice, and because the article's a good source on St. Cuthbert info for those, like you, who don't understand the deity. |
| M1kh43l_P4r4d1s004-06-07, 11:05 PM | full disclosure: I wrote much of it. This implies that you personally claim writing it. And don't call me Darth Dudicle. |
| Khadmus04-07-07, 06:54 AM | That does not "imply" it, it says that he wrote it; plain and simple. If we are to assume that he is telling the truth, he copied what he wrote from some random book. I thought "Darth Dudicle" was a reference to something (something more subtle than "darth") |
| Fencerboy04-07-07, 01:03 PM | Cthburt... The new Cthulu... Pelor pwnzors tiamat any day lol... Shaundakul is basically Fharlangan with a (slightly) cooler name... |
| Doom_Linnorm04-07-07, 01:11 PM | Pelor can't pwnzor Tiamat, simply becouse: A) she's cooler B) she's cooler C) she's cooler D) she's a giant five headed dragon while he is just some random sun god. E) she's a helluva lot scarier F) she's more attractive G) she has much more powerfull worshippers H) and she is cooler (Deities and Demigods also lies about their DvR, Tiamat has 5 DvR more then Pelor actualy) All the above statements are true, despite what you may read or think. |
| Khadmus04-07-07, 01:41 PM | A) opinion B) unproven C) fact, but I'll ignore this D) she's just some random five headed dragon E) Human weakness is no excuse F) pervert. G) See "E" H) See A, B, and C |
| Elvez4ever04-07-07, 01:57 PM | Why doesn't anyone give Vecna props anymore? I mean really! The dude MADE HIMSELF A GOD! That's not an easy thing to do! Plus, he's just totally cool. :D |
| Doom_Linnorm04-08-07, 03:55 AM | Agreed Vecna rocks, but Tiamat rocks a tad bit more. Also Khadmus I enjoyed reading that, it was most entertaining and I have to admit, atleast partialy true. :D One thing though.... how can a five headed dragon be random? she's totaly and utterly unique that way. Pelor cannot make the claim he is the only old guy with a large beard. (If he does, Zeus is going to fry his beard.) Also why am I a pervert for thinking she's attractive? its only natural for me to be atracted to large powerfull female dragons. (I'm a pervert becouse I'm also attracted to volputuos humanoids.... well half-dragons have to come from somewhere right?) |
