| Mist-Bound04-18-07, 09:06 PM | I'm far from an expert on the subject of the planes, but I do know that where two elemental planes meet, they form a demielemental or quasielemental plane, right? I'd like to know; what are all the demi/quasielemental planes known to exist? Additionally, what planar intersection are they each formed by? These are the planes I know of: *Ice: Water & Air *Ooze: Water & Earth *Steam: Water & Fire *Magma: Earth & Fire *Ash: Fire & Negative Energy *Dust: Earth & Negative Energy *Smoke: Fire & Air |
| MythMage04-18-07, 09:15 PM | where two elemental planes meet, they form a demielemental or quasielemental plane, right? Technically, it depends upon whether there are elemental or energy planes involved: Elemental + Elemental = Paraelemental Elemental + Energy = Quasielemental I don't know if demielemental is a technical term or not. It might refer collectively to both paraelemental and quasielemental planes. I'd like to know; what are all the demi/quasielemental planes known to exist? Additionally, what planar intersection are they each formed by? Lightning = Positive Energy + Air Steam = Positive Energy + Water Mineral = Positive Energy + Earth Radiance = Positive Energy + Fire Vacuum = Negative Energy + Air Salt = Negative Energy + Water What you already have is right, with one exception. These are the planes I know of: *Ice: Water & Air *Ooze: Water & Earth *Steam: Water & Fire *Magma: Earth & Fire *Ash: Fire & Negative Energy *Dust: Earth & Negative Energy *Smoke: Fire & Air The bolded part is wrong. There are no planes formed from the mixture of opposing planes (though there is one version of the cosmology that considers the Plane of Shadow to be the interaction of the Positive Energy Plane and Negative Energy Plane, but I don't buy it and it's not currently canon). |
| Naderion04-19-07, 10:36 AM | In the Planescape Campaign Setting, there are 18 Inner Planes. |
| sicsemperjohn04-19-07, 01:05 PM | This page is probably a start: http://www.pathguy.com/inner.htm |
| Naderion04-20-07, 06:40 AM | These should be the same as in the Planescape setting. |
| Evil DM Mk304-20-07, 06:57 AM | This is interesting, although I am not sure how acurate it is as I am not a huge fan of palnes et all. http://www.mimir.net/essays/planarphysics.html It has steam as positviely charged water. |
| MythMage04-21-07, 04:12 AM | In the Planescape Campaign Setting, there are 18 Inner Planes. Yes, that's how many I suggested. I listed 6 and noted that 6 of Mist-Bound's are right. Add that to the 6 that everybody knows about (energy and element planes) and you get 6+6+6=18. This page is probably a start: http://www.pathguy.com/inner.htm This is wrong. It explicitly states that he altered the planar setup to be different from Planescape. |
